      Since we had loads of snow last night I'm going to pop out my Short Shifts for the first time this winter 🙂

      Edit: decided to take them for a resole. Chose a brown Vibram commando sole which probably is a better choice for winter duty than the wedge sole since it still was too slippery. I hope it turns out nice..

        @Finn666:

        Normally, I'm strictly a brown boots kinda guy, but these are really nice looking.

            Didn't have time to get these back from the cobbler  before we were out of daylight again (all five hours or so of it I guess) so I'll have to continue my habit of posting crappy pics.

            I do have to say that these look a lot better with this sole in comparison to the wedge sole even though I had to go for black instead of the honey colored I wanted since Vibram doess not manufacture them in a bigger size than a US12 which was too small. And I don't think traction will be an issue anymore :).

            I'm happy with the end result even though there are some minor cosmetic flaws, they're boots made for heavy wear anyway so it doesn't bother me that much. Over all I think the boots look much more proportioned than before.

              now they look like real engineers, good. Just remember not to walk on that floor after you have used them outside. That sole collets, and I mean collects stones in the grooves.

                what you all think of the new vibergs out of Freemans:

                i have to say their two makeups are my favorite in a while despite my slight aversion to that Vibram 4014 Christy sole.  sh!t i mean if it works, it works & the slimmer toe box give these a few more options & i think will look better with my slimmer jeans & such.

                *someone with the time & energy can put up the flick 😉 not happening from me @ this point

                    if it's wet or moist, let it dry, then brush it with suede brush. If there is ie. indigo stains, live with them. I believe there isn't much you can do.

                          mikey, just get desired pics properties (right click and choose properties) get the address and insert it to image tags in your message. No need for photobucket. Or am I missing something here?

                              no, you can do that this way, however I usual save the image and upload them by my own, to avoid broken links and also to keep possible trouble away from here, copyright, etc…

                                      Let me ask a noob question.  How do you guys protect suede / rough out leather?  Silicon spray, and an occasional suede brush?  Don't think we can use any products like Obenauf's Oil/LP because they will gum up and darken the leather.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

                                        Obenauf's doesn't gum it up but will darken it for sure. These started off very very light, now…

                                          just got some light suede russells and debating treating them w LP, I fear now every little drop of water gonna leave a spot and then I'm gonna end up treating and cleaning them later
