Forum Like Facility - A Work in Progress…..

Loving the 'Like' function now. For future posts only though. Otherwise I'd have to 'Like' every Geo post…

yeah I'm working on it, the glowing guy had 3079 posts    the amount of time i spend on here i think i can make sure new joins know Geo & old heads save a space in the heart for him.  at the rate i'm working i would say sometime in February or so

Currently working on that as well. Also, been going back through threads and liking old posts that deserved recognition long ago.

My personal view is that hitting the like button is cleaner than typing +1 or whatever.

The post count is performed by the software, it does not have the intelligence to decide whether a post is "real" or not.

^^ I agree, IJ. Didn't hit like though This like-thing (and especially the accounting of posts) is Sufu style and it always meant more to me when I got a nice comment or PM than a "like", that is spread out easily. A forum offers the chance of expressing opinions and I prefer that over hitting a button.

Again, I agree.  But hitting the Like button has to be better than +1'ing.  The Like effectively should replace +1 and lead to cleaner threads.

Agree with G the whole +1 post gets tiresome. The like button is great for a lazy guy like me.

I tried this "like" thing, and I think it's too facebookish. But perhaps it can be a good thing. I'll see.

So we have given this a reasonable trial and I think on balance it really has not added any value,  So we're going to get rid of it.

The Mod Squad would greatly appreciate it if you do not revert to such things as +1, great, Nice etc.  I know that I am as guilty of this as anyone, but I am going to try and be good and keep to constructive comments…

Only some people were using it, it was not being used consistently, it seemed that people would click "like" rather than add a decent comment…....

Yeah but considering people didn't follow that model, what is the point?
