Since no natives here to tell you things….
There's The Miami Beach, actually I think theres miles of beach and water seemed quite clean, so go get your suntan there. And of course Ocean Blv. while you're at the beach. Lotsa small restaurants to have lunch, and huge margaritas. Watch your wallet though. Historic Art Deco district is right here , so keep your camera ready and shoot pics of buildings and people.
Golfcourses are all around and I think especially in Doral. Some cheap, some more expensive.
Few huge shoppingmalls, Dolphin Mall in Doral, outlet mall Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, and Aventura Mall comes to mind.If you go to Sawgrass Mills do what I did. Go there when there's a hockeygame in neighboring Bank Atlantic Arena. spend couple of hours in the Mall, leave female companioins there and go see hockey. Beer's expensive at Arena, so fill you up at malls sportbar before you go.
Everglades is just out of town, so take Tamiami Trail to west and go for an airboat ride. Also Miccosukee indian village and 'Gator wrestling is nearby, about 30mi. west along Tamiami Trail.
I didn't find any good shoestores nor jeans store at all, but that tells actually nothing, I wasn't on the hunt. Or was, but couldn't find proper boots...they might be there, though.
so, that's about it, hopefully some native comes to tell you the facts
Oh, and learn spanish before you go.....
