Hello everyone! Been hovering these forums for awhile and finally decided to sign up. Looking to make my first ironheart purchase soon and need some help!

Wanting to get the ultra heavy flannel, my shirts I currently have are about 17 inches for shoulder measurements. The chest goes for about 38 inches. Now on SE sizing chart I see the small with 16.1 for shoulder width and 41 for chest while medium goes for 17 shoulder width but a 42.5 inch chest. What would you guys recommend for a better fit?

Also anyone have any clue if these flannels are warm enough to wear let's say from 0 degrees to around -10 Celsius?

Tigburk, welcome! For advice on sizing I would look here: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=254

Based on your shoulder measurement I would say you are a Medium. I measure like a the American I am so the rest is gibberish to me.  😛

Hey Lando thanks for the quick reply.

Awesome that sounds great, would you say they are fairly warm and suitable for possible sub zero temperatures say around up to -10?

no a flannel shirt is not suitable for near-zero temps. not by itself.
the iron heart ultra heavy flannel is like nothing else I've ever seen but it doesn't replace a winter coat

Last 2 years I have passed on the heavy flannel because I have no money, and I always regret it.  I am sure I will this year as well unless I make a change.

is there any reason the western version of this shirt gets so much love compared to the IHSH-54? both great shirts but i think the one with side pockets has the edge!

Am i right in thinking that the the western version is cut a little longer than the side pocket version?

Personally I like both, so I bought both, but if I had to choose one I think it would be the 52. Not sure why really, I suppose I just prefer the snaps over the buttons. Both great shirts though imo.

hey thanks for that, how do the two shirts compare fit wise ? just looking at the numbers it looks like the 54 is a little slimmer/neater than the western?

No idea, I thought the side pocket version would sell quicker…....

Can't really compare I'm afraid, as the 52 is L and the 54 XL, so is obviously larger.
