Hey thanks everyone I really appreciate it.

Shoreman, If you want I can take some pics of the Beatle Busters you sold me for a side by side.  Also these are def. the tightest jeans around the knee area for me, so the combs really pull in tight behind your knees when your sitting down.  It takes awhile to get used to especially when the denim is stiff.

But yeah, these have not seen much action lately.  I've been trying to get more into the fuller cuts.  I thinks since I've been breaking in my busters my opinions have changed.  I flip flop on denim cuts all the time, as long as there not skin tight or sagging off my ass.

Yeah, that'd be cool. I'd like to see how they fit on someone else.

I don't think it helps that that SE model looks to have sized down about 4 sizes…  Those look painted on.  These look great, maybe I need to go w/ the OD version of these instead of the 666 to solve my problem w/ sizing.

I can see how with 21oz denim, though, the bunching up around the knees can be uncomfortable. Damn decisions.

Yeah, I've gone through those as well and it appears like a lot of people have that skin-tight fit.

most jeans are sized based on the waist and/or thigh but the 301s is such a strong taper that the lower leg can really make or break this one, it's tough to size up because the top gets baggy, on some the cut is perfect, others it just doesn't work

It stinks that I'm not close enough to a SE to go and try a few pairs on.  It would hurt to pull the trigger and not be able to return them if I get them hemmed.  I have some tough decisions ahead of me.  I would meditate on it, but it hurts my back.

you can buy them unhemmed and return if they don't fit for store credit (less shipping)
or send them back for hemming if you do like them
sure you pay extra shipping two ways but small price to pay, given the risk of getting stuck with hemmed jeans that don't fit

IMO one of the best fitting 301s i`ve seen till today. great…not too tight and not too loos...just great!

I just got my 301-S from self edge, the guy there said it will stretch but for now it feels tight around the waist.  Should i size up one more? I got a 29 and im 29-30 in APC  New Cure, 29 in Petite Standards and  30 in Nudies Thin Finn.

                          No, don't size up demi…Mine are a 33 waist and now they're a 34 1/2, that's how much they stretched!

First, welcome. No, do not size up. The waist will stretch out. The "guy" at SE is right. He does this all day every day. And by no means am I a skin tight jeans guy. Just my opinion on the help you received from SE. Now if you were at tate & yoko, who knows. They may have to call SE. (That was a joke)

after going through like every page of this thread, styleforum, HB, and the SUFU forums
i still cant figure out if i should go TTS on the 301s or size one down

when i went to selfedge a couple days ago, i tried on some size 33 301s and fell in love
they fit perfectly, a little bit on the tight side, very snug but definitely comfortable
wasn't much of a struggle to put them on
talked to the assistant there and he agreed that this was definitely the right fit

here are some pictures from SUFU that i feel most represent how the fit looked on me

I do prefer to sag a little bit, but i dont want pants that are literally falling off of me without a belt
i really like the fit of the jeans in the images i posted above(though id definitely hem a few inches off),
and i would like them to stay similar to that if possible
                                  what do you guys think?
should i stay 33 (TTS, would look like images above) or size one down to 32
tbh im not sure if i can squeeze into 32 , i cant fathom how painful it must be, but if it must be done
i will put forth the effort

i am actually new to this whole selvedge business, please excuse my ignorance!
please, only respond if you have a pair of 301s, i wouldnt want any skewed opinions
my main concern right now is that they will stretch too much

thats what im thinking of doing, but the fact that so many people say they stretch so much in the top block
                                      disheartens me…
if i wear a belt will it minimize the stretching?

if you want to have a slimmer fit then go downsizing 1. Yes, it will stretch a lot in the tight and waist at most..

sizing down 1 or going TTS

i dont want a skin tight fit, but definitely something form fitting
sorry for all the questions, its a lot of money to me since i am a college student
