No prob's. Will get some better and fit pic's thorough the week if i remember.

A bunch of great stuff at BiG right now! Was there the other day and I must say, it is easily one of my favorite shops in NYC. My only complaint is the dressing room area. So small and so hot.
-
i got to make a trip. i am ashamed to be a NYer & never have made the trip.

madmonday, shame on you ;D! You must visit and report back.
-
i know, i know, shame on me. truth is i'm an Iron Heart junkie & soo far haven't really had the need to step out for too much. i do have to do it just to say i did it.
maybe depending on when i do my leg of the SBG tour i'll make a trip & take a few pictures . . .
-
^^^
i thought the same. one of these i have to make time & go to BiG
And as promised:
Not the greatest phone pic i'm afraid :(. Shown with PS MIJ for BiG.
i've been digging on BiG for years, unfortunately I bought that same pair of jeans - with the red dot on the label, i need to take some images and put them up for sale, I never wore them - the rear pockets were too big for my liking.
I do like full count and samurai's however, and wear them during the warmer months.
winter time is all iron heart time if you ask me.
cheers
jesse

BIG posted a new Momotaro made exclusively for BIG. $725, is ouch money but the jeans look spekktakkular. Anyone wants to sponsor me? I have a couple of Reggae instrumentals or Gregory Isaacs which I've never released…

Yep, I'm with you. 95% of the world, maybe more, thinks we're insane because we spend more than 50 bucks for jeans. If you want it and can afford it, buy it. It's nobody's business but your own.
Oh, but to answer your question, Jaco- $501 is too much.:)
Until IH puts out something more expensive, that is, then the acceptable price will go up.
-
so $725 is crazy but nobody bats an eye at $500 (xhs), I'm curious then what the cutoff is?
Momotaro at $725 is a joke. I can't see myself buying any pair of denim for above $450. That's just me. Spend away if you feel so inclined. I just cannot accept it getting any higher. For above $500 there better be an army of virgins sewing my denim by hand. This conversation is just getting silly. If the "price of cotton" and the "cost of making denim in Japan" continues to this point, you can count me the fuck out or find me at Costco buying $30 jeans.
-
I don't disagree that the number is pretty ridiculous I'm just saying its not that far of a stretch when you start doing collabs with hank dyed NI and hand painting pockets and bedazzle them with silver. there are NI jeans all over approaching that price. and hell we're paying half that much for flannel around here. there's a small market for such jeans and I'm sure they'll sell a few pair. I would not buy them but I wouldn't fault someone that did
-
Jaco again speaks the truth! Seems to not make any sense what so ever to say 500 is fine but 725 now that's just insane. Really WTF? It's two bills! If it's what ya want and ya got the cash then an item is worth whatever your willing to pay for it. As far as saying now that is just overpriced, might be a good idea to look around at the house first and make sure the walls ain't made of glass.

I did some quick calculations and based on the current USD/Yen exchange rate, the price of these jeans would be approximately 56,500 Yen (which is still extremely expensive). As of the same date over the past few years, that amount of Yen would equal (more or less):
2010: $697
2009: $607
2007: $518
2006: $475The price in US Dollar terms has increased more than 50% over the past five years due to the strengthening of the Yen against the US$. The "cost of making denim in Japan" could have stayed the same over those 5 years, but the cost (in US$ terms) has gone up 50%. This price increase can either be eaten by the seller or paid by the buyer (or some combination of both). Only Gordon knows the math behind this one.
All that being said, I think that $480 is the maximum that anyone should pay for jeans right now (since I just bought the 666 25oz. yesterday…) In addition, I don't need silver buttons on my pants. They are just pants, after all.
