IHSH-51 - Ultra Heavy Winter Flannel Westerns - 2011 Edition

(till we stopped doing them)…...
say what…
We have always designed and made the denim we use for our jeans etc, from first principles, and it is exclusive to us.
We used to buy the shirtings in. Then one day we found that shirts were popping up on the market made out of the same fabric as we were making ours in (case in point the lightweight summer herringbones). Obviously, we could not stop the mills selling their stock product to whomever they liked.
So we made the decision to design our shirtings from first principles and the stuff would be exclusive to us. This imposed a massive extra work load on Haraki and he just could not design as many patterns as he wanted too. First casualty were the lightweight summer mini herringbones, I will be discussing whether we can reintroduce, when I am with him in 2 weeks time…....

total off topic of this thread, but in tune with the above you should have a contest for a flannel pattern design.
would be pretty cool

^^^
true story, not about the industry hate (i have no idea about that) just not mentioning little things as they make items to their own specifications & standards. one of the best exchanges on the forum was when it was "discovered" that the new tees were loopwheeled & it was just mentioned in passing because that loopwheeled doesn't equal quality, which is a very important part of the Iron Heart ethos.ok enough of butchering this thread for me as it is obvious i'm a fanboy of the brand & if not of everything they do at least the way they attempt to conduct themselves

Sorry for being offtopic, but I strongly hope for lighter weight shirts in the future. Self designed or not (but prefereably self designed.) Wasn't it intented, to do lighter weight stuff under the Triple Works label? Please don't stop doing them.

Is it just me or do these look thinner than previous years? I know it's hard to tell from the pics and I am praying I'm wrong, I really really hope not.

Thanks G. Now I can carry on about my day worry free!

Same sizing as last year's?

Hey, I'm new to Iron Heart (and Japanese sizing) and I have a quick sizing question. I recently bought an OriginalFake flannel and it was 45 in the chest, but it fit like spandex. I was thinking a xxl or xxxl for this shirt. I'm 5'10" and weigh 200. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

welcome Mike, these shirts aren't here yet so all just guessing until Giles can measure them himself
though you can see last years heavy flannels here

sizing of these likely to be similar -
I'm just looking for an idea because I plan on buying this as soon as it drops. Regardless, I'm going to have to try on a suggested size to be fully sure. It would suck if I got a xxxl and it ends up being way too big.
PS I know the rules on askng about sizing and fit prior to Giles getting them in hand. I probably should have worded my initial post a little different. -
Im just going to buy one from IH UK and hopefully it's the correct size, if it isn't, I'll return for the correct size. I've been watching the forums and it seems like all the good stuff sells out instantly in all average sizes. Giles mentioned earlier in this thread that this particular shirt has a ton of request forms in already. It seems like sleeping on the hottest IH drops is not smart.
