Finn I gotta admit every single on of those are great. I just wish that water one wasn't blocked….
As for the shots over on SuFu gotta agree with the other person who commented about the contrast. IF they came out like that nothing you can do but the blacks are taking away from the detail due to the contrast. They are lovely shots though!
what do you mean with "blocked" ?
do you mean the blacks in the architecture shots or i.g.?thanks for your feedback mate

Meant to say this yesterday, but I mean with the water shot because there'e the building on the right. Wish it wasn't there because that shot is pretty damn cool.

Oh, duh… my bad haha. I read it wrong :p
orly, my advice is to invest in a GOOD new lens THEN upgrade the body. with that budget you can get a ton of nice lenses and since you are using Canon I suggest looking into a 70-200, or a 24-105. They are both L lenses (best types of lenses you can get imo) and they are worth the price. No point in investing in a nicer body if you are going to be using a crappy lens.
If I can find a link to a video I saw I will post it which will give you an example of a bad camera with good lens and an amazing camera with a horrible lens.
