    Meindl

An old one from 2010…. only near to 800 people watched this  😁.

Love my Meindl Perfekt for so many reasons ;;-))!

    Had to replace the Perfekt…..

....and choose this Meindl Airstream some friends use daily.

At the beginning, this is more a ‚Red Latern‘ boot, but I am sure this will evolve…..

@aetas That's a great boot for mountaineering. I'm using la sportivas, but these here have a more traditional look, which I really like. Where do you use them? I guess not in the great planes of NRW …  🙂

I´m using the Meindl Lightpeak GTX, the look is more on the "Tech" and they have all the Buzzword features one could imagine, i climbed some Peaks and really liked them so far. My Grandad wears Meindls for 50 Years or more.

Gents, I love my Meindl Air Revolution Gore-Tex boots that I've had for 10 years and they have never let me down. I use them for scrambling, mountaineering, hill walking in Snowdonia.

Not Meindl (and unfortunately no 'traditional look'), but very reliable La Sportivas. The Trango Tower GTX has lead me on many peaks, including 4 above the 4000 and 2 above the 5000 mark. The TX4 is just a great approach shoe, so comfortable I often wear it like a sneaker.

Good to know there are other mountain lovers among us.

This was one of my choices. But for hiking and climbing, I wear actually Hanwag and Raichle

The Airstream is not for mountainiring in the Alps …. was in need of a allday boot. Hated to change shoes throughout the day. Chainchsawsafe and hard  toe cap.... @endo

                @Aetas sadly I don't have the pictures in question any longer which, if my memory serves me well, were of Grib Goch in Snowdonia;

@Aetas Meindl is a german classic, its either those or Lowa.

I chose the hiking Meindls purly by fit, I had Lowas, Hanwags etc. on in the Outdoor Store and the Meindl was the best fit of them.

@endo It is sort of a split between work boot and mountain boot, they take the hiking boot tech and put it in a work boot specificly for work in the woods which here in germany/austria/switzerland is often times in pretty rough/steep terrain. They are S3 certified which means anti puncture and hard toecap (manditory for all sorts of hard labour jobs here in germany) and they have the kwf logo which is the german entity that checks forest tech stuff so they are also fine to use with a chainsaw.

For that use case I bought the Haix Protector Light 2.0 which have done a good job so far and are made in Europe. As work boots for the constrcution stuff i got myself some carhartt S3 chelsea boots, which are made in italy.

Sorry no Meindl too… LaSportiva Trango. During my Med-School years I spend many weekends and vacations in Austrian Alpine Rescue Service... this is the boot mostly everyone there was wearing... still going well. LaSportiva Nepal in winter.

God has blessed you richly, so get down on your knees and thank him. Don’t forget the less fortunate or God will personally kick your ass. I’d love to do it for him, but I can’t be everywhere. Willie Nelson

Agree, the Nepal is great for snow and ice/crampons.

It was my fault not describe the Airstream right.
Thanks @Steffen to describe this Boot more precisely!
Would love to see your Haix Protector.

I love my Hanwag Tatra. Great boot that took me on over 30 summits so far and through several week long tracks all over Europe and is still in daily use walking the dog. These took quite some beating and still hold up very well.
For terrain that requires more technical equipment my Nepal evo GTX are the go to, crampons proof and even did. ice climbing in them.
Unfortunately I don’t have the time anymore, but had several years of hiking as a guide and mountaineering.

I loved all my Hanwag boots I had over the years.
Especially Hanwag was my boot for the Alps!
And unfortunately, I have also no time for the Alps in summer, but I am working on a change!!
