I've done it numerous times, it's quite easy and smooth. You can buy tickets in advance.

We haven’t booked yet but will probably do so tonight. We want to book the flights first then the hotel. Right now we’re looking at a 13 hour layover in NY but apparently JFK has an awesome hotel inside the airport. Anyone know anything about this?

If Travelodge books up we’ll just crash with my de facto travel buddy @scooter.

The old TWA terminal was converted into a hotel. If thats what your refering to. I think its near the Jet Blue terminal.

Maybe. Katie said it looks really cool. At least cool enough for a layover and still a bargain since the flight is only $800.

@Matt Unfortunately not. Have another cruise booked which ends 22 Sept in San Francisco, spending 13 days in Alaska. on it.

Geez I’d love to be able to make this happen. Not looking like I can shake it out though. We’re planning a trip to Vietnam over the summer.
Once the school year starts the Mrs. is deep into her CPA exams and I plan to move to a new school next year. Then this party is a few weeks after the school year starts. Those are my woes regarding missing a hang with y’all.

There is train connection from Waterloo Station to Portsmouth Harbour. Then take the ferry to Gosport @Clint_D.

Just make sure you get on the ferry to Gosport, not the ferry to the Isle of Wight like a colleague of mine did on a recent trip to Portsmouth…

Also make shure to keep the f@@king ferry ticket, since it covers both ways and don't throw it away after just one trip, like I did years back.
