My man at the monopoly said Barleywine and I just bought it. Only when I got home did I see “Herbal Barleywine” and not another word of English. Herbal did not appeal.

Turns out it’s pretty bloody good.  The herbs don’t dominate at all and simply act as a balance to the sweetness of the beer. BA the stuff in whisky barrels and it would probably be transcendent.

Picked up a bottle of the Cocaobanger along with some other good stuff this morning. Started the weekend with a couple of traditional dark ales. One from the US and one from Orkney. The Brown Dog was best but both were a pleasure.
