Gents, looking for recommendations for something similar to this, that isn't made by a global conglomorate, I like it as a winter tipple.

Well, i am from near London…. The home of stout!
However this one is strong, slightly sparkling and quite sweet.
It has flavours of roasted nuts, coffee, cola. Most stouts are around 4-5% abv, but this hits the spot at 7.5.

Almost at Imperial ABV levels then. Most of the Scandi brewers have stouts and impy stouts that would fit the bill. Do you have any spesialist stores near you that have websites?
My fave boozy, Imperial Stout at the mo is by Boulevard Brewery, and comes from their Smokestack Series. Nøgne do a good one as well.

I've had the Stingo and the Imperial. very nice indeed - and definitely not made by a global conglomerate!

Oh and the La Buteuse is the appel brandy (calvados) barrel aged version… If you're a nerd you already knew this as it's a 75cl bottle ::)
PS nephy: Orval glass wrapped... This time it's BOMBPROOF... Might ship next week...
Great news! We'll have a further chat about that, I'll pm you \o/
Meanwhile all this talk of Stout meant I had to pick some up, and lo and behold a new impy from one og my fave Norwegian brewers. These guys have a micro brewery with associated bar just outside of the centre og Oslo. This is 9% abv and matured in Bourbon casks. Vanilla and oak over a malty, brown sugar base. Great stuff.

A bit of an image dump of beers I've been enjoying over the last bit. I had that fullers imperial stout as well, but apparently I didn't get a photo. It was pretty good. My favorite was definitely the four winds pequeno cabos….a tequila barrel aged Berliner weisse that was just about perfect on a warm summers day

Kicked off college football last night with a few good beers!
Jester King Hibernal Dichotomous, cellared for I think about 9 months.
Delicious, much more mellow than it was initially in January.
Oskar Blues Ten Fidy. Never had anything from this brewery before, this one didn't disappoint.
Luckily I've got three more cans to enjoy.
