Haha! There is hope. I mainly avoided sweating, real work, and “feeling dirty” throughout my life and well into my mid 30s. I also had an office job and was in upper middle management. Something happened. I began to think I was selling myself short with excuses and being soft. I began with small home projects, helping friends, etc. and my life satisfaction grew as well as my skills and confidence. All the while I was donning $350+ denim. I felt like a poser at first, but they “broke in” with me. Now I have become somewhat of a minimalist , but with a few good “expensive” pieces that become part of me with me. You got this.

I did not wear them daily as I often wore shorts during the summer, but I did wear them very often and worked very hard in them. I’d say one (maybe two?) washes and a soak or two. Usually I just used compressed air to blow them off when they were dirty/grimy/dusty

Another Summer in the books. These shed a lot of Indigo this season & really started to show some amazing evo. Wish the iPhone camera wouldn't lose its mind with denim.

Those are sexy AF! Great job. Would love to know how you treated these. Lots of washes? No washes? Hard wearing? What else?

I know these are ancient posts, but I really appreciate these photos. I have been "google searching", "Pinterest searching", and "web searching", but I can find nearly zero good photos that reference the 14oz fade potential. I just picked up a used pair of 14oz on eBay and cannot wait to try them out. If they eventually even come close to these I will be far more than pleased.

These are the most stubborn to give up indigo of all IH I have owned.

I have just noticed something as my IH-555-21ods have begun to break in.  It is almost as if they are made of suede or something.  I can run my hand across them in one direction and they turn light.  Run it across in the opposite direction and they turn darker.  So far they are fading almost "gray-like", with just a tiny amount of blue pigment showing through.  Just thought you guys may want to know about this characteristic.  Pretty cool.

I am forever seeing posts asking for "real-world" experience before you buy a fit or variation within a fit, so I thought I have now had enough experience with these jeans to leave some valuable information.

First of all, I bought a pair that were 38" waist (I am actually like a 37) and they were WAY too big (39"+).  I sent them back and changed them for a 36.9" waisted IH-555S-21od and started wearing them.  They fit tight and great at first, but after about 15 wears and a wash (had to because my muddy-foot dog jumped on me) they were beginning to stretch out to the point that they were slipping down my hips "just a little".

So I ordered the IH-555-XHSib in a flat 37" waist and (like someone else said) they were murder to button, bend, squat in, and seemed to eat the back of my knees like a chainsaw.  I am at 7 wears now and they are just getting some electric blue in high stress areas, but I have noticed virtually ZERO waist stretch.  So little, in fact, I am afraid to wet them.  Maybe this is the pair that I literally wear for a year with no washes!

They have softened ever so slightly, but nothing like the 21oz denim does.  Still feel like a tank or sheet of steel, only pliable steel now.

You can judge the fit for yourselves and see what you think.

My questions are:

1. Will these ever stretch? ::)
2. Will they shrink too much to wear once washed?
3. Will they "return" to wearable and stretch back out if they do shrink?
4. Will these ever be soft?  If so, when?  ???

These are BY FAR my favorite IH and I have owned the IH-777S-21, IH-666S-21, IH-555S-21od, and now these.  I have sold my 777 and 666 (both in 38–thinking they would shrink) and now I am left with two very different 555 versions.  I love them both, but the color of these XHSib are just other-worldly unreal!  So essentially I feel like I am left with an "I feel full and need some extra belly" jeans and an "I feel slim, trim, and ripped" pair of 555s.

Thank you so much!  I have had it for about two years.  Still trying to break it in.  The "shine" will dissipate over time and then I think it will really begin to look good!  It is very comfortable and it does fit me perfectly!  Have a great day!

As for the red W popvulture is correct it’ll slowly make a appearance as your pair sheds dye.

Ended up checking my pair which has been washed many times.

I haven't washed my ODs much, so I can't comment on how much the red W pops. My guess would be that it'd become a bit more prominent with wears and washes, but maybe not as bright as if it'd never been overdyed.

The 555 definitely has higher rise and slightly roomier overall top block than the 666 though. The xtra room for the boys is for sure noticeable

Thank you!  I am not planning to wash so I was referring to color reveal based on wear alone.  Oh well, I am loving the fit.  Here they are (with and without sun/jacket) within 20 minutes of putting them on.

Well, I finally received my IH-555S-21od denim today.  I have a question…will the red "W" show up with wear?  It is covered in the black dye at the moment to the point it is almost unnoticeable.  I really love the red letter and hope it becomes more apparent as these lose color.  As for the fit, the 555 are my new jam.  They seem to allow a lot more room for "my junk".  My 666s seems to mash my junk down and I am all the time trying to pull on my fly to relieve pressure in that area (when no one is looking of course).  My 777s are the most generous, but I can't decide if it is because I ordered them too large, or if they are cut with a little more room for the family jewels.  As for the 555, while they are clearly "tighter" over all, they seem to stretch and give in the right places and just feel great.  I will upload a fit pic later this evening.

Couple of questions on this shirt. 
1. Does anyone have any photos of how this wears/fades over time?
2. This is listed on the website as "new", rather than "Back in stock", but this discussion dates back nearly a year…just curious about this one.
3. I have never owned the "work shirt" as I am just getting into IH, but I am curious as to why you like this over a western, or if there are any perks you have found (fit, pen slot, etc.).
