Here are my 301-N, worn for about a year (minus summer months) and washed once so far. I ride my bike everywhere, which I think has aided the development of the combs and seat area. Not much whiskering though.

I'm going to ask a question that may have been asked before (though I have done a bit of searching). I have a pair of IH-301N that I absolutely love. I'll add pics at some point to demonstrate fades, but they're coming along nice.
I have an opportunity to buy an almost unworn 14 oz. version, 1 size up from my current pair for a really good price. Do you think if I purposely tried to shrink them, I could get them down anything beyond a negligible amount e.g. a full size? I was thinking after I treated the leather patch for protection, a very hot soak, extra hot wash with agitation and extra hot dry. I'd need to do something in there to make sure weird lines didn't set in which I haven't figured out yet.
The price is so good, I am considering just experimenting, but that said, I could put it towards something else. Have any other scientists out there tried something similar?
Is there texture/slub to the fabric re:handfeel or is it smooth? Hoping for the former and it seems that way from the upclose fabric shot. Also what’s the weight? Sorry if I missed it.

My Flathead S key holder got lost about a month ago after ten years of dedicated service (unfortunately my one and only bike lock key was lost with it, terrible). As a result, here is my new rig. Good Art Belt Loop Buddy and Phigvel key holder to anything that could be scratched or torn.

Pretext: I own a pair of brown rough out White's Oxfords from Baker's Boots that I love minus the fact that I could use a tiny bit more width. I'm interested in another pair of low cut rough out shoes and I am between these two:

I'm interested in Wesco more so based on the love they get from Iron Heart and the board here. Honestly, roughout color doesn't matter that much as I can pretty much do the same build in either shoe. More interested in any knowledge of quality/comfort on the Wesco or opinions.

I'm currently working my way through Fallout 4 which is long even if you stick to the base story line(s). Significant change of pace after wrapping up Resident Evil 7 and Titanfall 2.
