    Thanks @rohitsingh [emoji4]
    It is loosening up indeed, which seems to improve the fit. Looking forward to when it is finally all soft and drapy.
    Good to hear about low temps in LA. In London it's still like springtime weather - hoping for some UHF weather soon [emoji111]

    This is El Niño year for us getting some early snow on mountains … yes mine too getting better, have a good one!!!

  • RE: IHJ-35-BLK - Japanese Horsehide Rider’s Jacket - Black (Tea-Core Dyed)

    @Giles:

    Erm, because it is better. I defy anyone to pick up a Schott and compare it with a leather jacket from Flat Head, or Real mcCoys or Joe McCoys or indeed Iron Heart and say it is better.  I have jackets from them all, and Aero and Simmons Bilt and a few others, so I do know what I am talking about….  And the J100 which this jacket is derived from is a our interpretation of a Buco, not a Schott....

    OK, 😞 I was drunk … apologies 😞 I love IH !!! Cheers!!!

    With all due respect … everything here is originated from USA (I adore IH for keeping it alive & adding heavy weight for denims (we never made it to more than 14 oz)that was totally Japanese, and I am sorry we almost killed our roots by outsourcing, btw iI am talking about denim only) .......... ........... .......... But Schott NYC never died .... you can still get original with much lower price .... Why would I pay extra ..... in name of Japan where labor is cheaper than USA!!!! Again with all due respect .... we are still looking for something that was designed by our Schott NYC!!!

    @spitfiredealer:

    Yeah a cold soak would be good. Mine got it's only soak in the pouring rain. Shouldn't be too hard to get the same in Ireland [emoji6]

    Haha!!! It never rains in southern california!!! We see rains in movies tho !!!

    @Ndubya94:

    Thoughts on my fit?  I think this fits fairly good, a bit concerned about anymore shrinkage so I haven't thought about a soak.  I may just wear it till it breaks in then soak.  I am able to layer right now with the 13, would love feedback…(This thing destroyed my fingers haha)

    Looks excellent, but it definitely goes one size down even with cold soak, enjoy!!! BTW for quicker break sleep in 'em 🙂 !!!

    @rohitsingh:

    Original lee denim had this characteristic vertical line fades formation whenever denim is stretched & strained, I guess Flathead created this, I do have HD Lee 101S, creating vertical  lines, look at these pictures carefully you may notice  vertical line fades

    @rohitsingh those fades look great.  Just to expand on what you said, in my experience you can/will get heavy vertical line fading on jeans using many of the denims made by Cone Mills.

    @BloodnThunder    I guess originally Cone Mills denim fades more evenly, but now days you see lot of variations… I do have few Cone Mills denim from LVC, Tellason and few other, mostly smooth & soft in texture, but I do have slim Lee101s, I guess its from Kaihara mill in Japan, initially it was smooth but within a month it started forming vertical lines mostly where it was stretched, but I know Flat Head denims create more prominent lines, look at the top most picture!!!

    @den1mhead:

    @rohitsingh, my 526J just didnt feel like it fit me in the body or the arms but i do have long arms. Looking at you in your 526L leaves me feeling that i've made the right choice as the fit of yours looks great as does length in the body and the arms. Winner  😉

    Totally, L has pretty modern slim cut, I am 6 feet tall and jacket length is 27 inches after hot soak of two hours, I am sure you will love it too.. waiting to see your pictures soon!!!
