My pleasure @fatpaulh. I hope the jacket works out 🙂

  • RE: sizing of N1 jackets

I'm not sure about the latest RMC N-1's but comparing an old jacket I had, I found in general the RMC was wider in the shoulders and body, shorter in the sleeves and had much higher armholes compared to the IH N-1. I have a size Large IH N-1 which fits me well. I could even go up to a XL for additional layering. FYI, I take a size XL in UHF's. The size 40 (Large) in the RMC N-1 was good (slightly on the trim side) in the shoulders and chest but the sleeves were too short (I am 6ft 1") and the arm holes far too tight. The size 42 (XL) was much more comfortable all around but because of the additional width in the body, I had to constantly use the drawstring to prevent drafting and even then it tended to "flap" about a bit at the hem. The patterns might have changed since I had a RMC N-1 (few years back) so probably best to try one on if possible.

  • RE: Wesco® - 10" Natural Leather Pull-On "Mister Lou" Engineer Boot

I measure a size 11 on a US Brannock device (upper end of D width) and take a 10.5 US in Red Wing heritage boots (Moc Toe and Iron Ranger).  I have the Mr Lou's in a 10.5 E which fit me well.

  • RE: IHSB-BB-NAT - Natural Horsehide Jacket - The Bareback

I got this from SB last year but it's similar to the Bareback.  My favourite jacket, highly recommended!

  • RE: IHWE-PO - Iron Heart Int'l x Wesco® - 8" Rough-Out Burlap Pull-On Boot

Good to know Giles, thanks.  I need to settle on my Wesco sizing first but once I'm happy with this, I'll be able to order.

Any idea on the timescale for the restock of these?

Are there any plans for some more IH/WESCO Engineer boots in the near future?

  • RE: IHSH-211 - 17oz Duck CPO Style Shirt - Brown

@dreigh I'm 6ft 1" with a 41" measured chest and weigh 200 pounds and went with the XL and I'm very happy with the fit.  Fit is of course a very personal thing but I like to have somewhere between 4 and 5" in tolerance around the chest so would have found the Large a bit too snug for my liking.  I tend to wear the IHSH-211 over a t-shirt or thermal, which the XL allows for.  FWIW, I have stuck to my usual size in this shirt as I have done in previous CPO and Western purchases.

  • RE: IHSH-227-IND - 12oz Wabash CPO Shirt - Indigo

@Stuart.T I own this shirt in a size XL (which, up until now, is the same size I take in all my westerns and CPO's).  I am 6ft 1" and weigh 200 pounds (41" measured chest) and this fits me well but is not fitted (which I prefer).  I can happily layer this over a t-shirt or thicker thermal. I note that you own the IHSH-211 (which I also own), and aside from the sleeve length being a bit longer on the IHSH-227, the sizing feels similar in the shoulders and chest.  One difference between the two that is noticeable for me is the cuff width.  It's wider on the IHSH-227 which can exaggerate the feeling of longer sleeves as they can fall beyond the wrist.  Overall, I think this is a stunning piece from IH, and will only get better with wear.  You won't regret the purchase 🙂

  • RE: IHSB-ANJ4 - Iron Heart x Simmons Bilt Flight Jacket

Great info. @thomas01, thanks very much. I am either a Large or XL in IH gear so I guess I’ll be either an XL or XXL in this jacket. I’m over 6ft, so like you, I’d also want additional length on the sleeves and back.

That jacket looks stunning @thomas01, it suits you very well.  I’m looking at this one too. May I ask which size you went for?

  • RE: IHTL-1700 - Extra Heavy Cotton Knit Crew Neck Thermal Sweater

I take a size XL in IH Westerns and CPO's and dropped down to a Large for this one.  Really pleased with the overall fit with good sleeve and body length for my 6ft 1" frame.
