I'm not sure about the latest RMC N-1's but comparing an old jacket I had, I found in general the RMC was wider in the shoulders and body, shorter in the sleeves and had much higher armholes compared to the IH N-1. I have a size Large IH N-1 which fits me well. I could even go up to a XL for additional layering. FYI, I take a size XL in UHF's. The size 40 (Large) in the RMC N-1 was good (slightly on the trim side) in the shoulders and chest but the sleeves were too short (I am 6ft 1") and the arm holes far too tight. The size 42 (XL) was much more comfortable all around but because of the additional width in the body, I had to constantly use the drawstring to prevent drafting and even then it tended to "flap" about a bit at the hem. The patterns might have changed since I had a RMC N-1 (few years back) so probably best to try one on if possible.

Thanks Robm for that comprehensive explanation , i really appreciate you taking the time to reply in such detail.
sounds like we are the same size albeit i’m a bit shorter.
i have a chance to buy a 2nd hand one that is within a reasonable drive and wanted a heads up before committing to the journey..
          thanks again mate ..
