Hi guys, one of the forum links is not working, as above.
Also, I can't seem to get an email to reset my password via the 'forgot my password' method
Looks great though, love the design!

I went from Apple to Android in 2011, and was finally tempted back by the new iPhone XS Max, went all out with the 512GB phone, plus the stainless 44mm LTE watch, picked up on launch day, I was excited to be back… Within 2 weeks they've been returned and I'm back to my Samsung Note 8.
They were very cool, sexy as hell with the polished stainless finish, and felt great in hand. The problem was that in the two weeks I had it it dropped at least half a dozen calls mid call, and removed the time stamps from all my messages so were all in random order... Since I use my phone for work it was just unacceptable, sadly. Luckily Apple customer service is excellent, and they just refunded it no fuss. Offered a swap but I'm going to wait for them to iron out the kinks, it sounds like the calls dropping is a random issue at this stage, with no known cause and no guarantee if or when it will be fixed with an update, or whether it's a hardware issue.
I've been wanting to buy one of these forever, sadly by the time I got around to it all avenues for online purchase had dried up. Any leads on getting one of these to Australia? Can I smuggle one into the pocket of some jeans
Cheers,
Matt
I ended up deciding on a Harley Roadster, I haven't had a heap of time to ride so far, but it's great fun! Highly recommended! It'll be even better once I get a chance to put on all the bits and pieces I've got for it, I'll get some pics and post them up soon
I had the Defender detailed and coated with two coats of Ceramic Pro, pretty happy with how it came out!
I've been doing more research and it seems the error codes were likely from a poor electrical connection or bad battery, so nothing terminal (pun not intended). I haven't had a chance to ride a Roadster yet, but that's the other Harley on the list. The Triumph Bobber is another interesting proposition, which should be on sale soon. I sat on one at Moto Expo and it felt pretty comfortable.
I've been test riding a couple of bikes lately, looking to trade up from the '07 Bonneville to something new. First bike I rode was a Harley Low Rider S, cool looking bike, massive grins induced when giving it the throttle, otherwise just a fairly comfortable bike to cruise on. Clunky gearbox, and broke down twice in rapid succession near the end of the test ride with an error code, but otherwise I liked it. The breaking down did leave a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth though, and a lot of heat put out when stopped at the lights etc.
Next I rode a Thruxton R, which was an all round superb bike, couldn't really fault it.Great engine, brakes, etc etc.
After the rides the Thruxton was the obvious 'winner', and while they're vastly different bikes the engineering seems much better on the Triumph. The funny thing is, now that a couple of weeks have passed I find myself wanting the Harley more. Decisions, decisions!
The bike looked great in the flesh Graeme, nice to meet you briefly
I'm very sorry to hear about Sakura, may she rest in peace and my sincere condolences to the family.
@MP:
Thanks, I can't wait to pick it up! I've got a 500km drive home from the dealership, so plenty of time to get familiarised
It won't take you that long, there ain't much to get familiarised with ;D. Heated seats is about as complicated as it gets, though I suspect you won't be needing them. First thing to do is chuck out the feckin useless stock radio. We replaced ours with a blue tooth Sony device. Now we have hands free on the phone and the world of Spotify, plus Apple route guidance….Love it
Haha, yeah there's not much techno wizardry in there is there. All the Australian spec Defenders have the Alpine headunit / sub set-up, so we'll see how that sounds, otherwise I'll do the gramophone upgrade.

4444cfed, that's a classic, looks like it's in good nick too
These look great, thanks for the discount
I've been slumming it in non-IH jeans the last few weeks as it's been so damn hot, I'm hoping these are a bit cooler than the 21oz.
Cheers,
Matt
Hey Graeme, yep I'm in Melbourne, when I spoke to City Triumph they'd taken orders for 3 Thruxton R's, that was a couple of weeks ago now. He reckoned they'd be selling thick and fast, and said they weren't even going to have a demonstrator, just selling everything they got. That's the opposite of BMW, who designate the first bike their demonstrator, and to me that seems like a better idea.
I picked up my Bonneville today after having a service and tune up with a guy who's supposed to be a bit of a guru, but it was too bloody hot to ride for too long so I'm looking forward to going for a decent ride when it cools down a bit
Graeme, who's your local Triumph dealer? City Triumph in Melbourne are taking $500 deposits, which are fully refundable… Not trying to tempt you
I hadn't noticed the different brakes on the Scrambler, though knew the suspension was down-specced. It's going to be a couple of grand cheaper according to the sales manager so something's got to give I guess. I will ride both bikes back to back and see how noticeable the difference is, I'm no Rossi so I'm sure the limits of the suspension and brakes on both bikes will be beyond mine anyway. The Thruxton will be at least a couple of months post-release by then too, so hopefully there'll be a demo floating around to test as well. Exciting times however it pans out
I was really close to putting a deposit on a Thruxton R, but I've flipped to the new BMW R nine T Scrambler since seeing it announced. I love the look of it, and from all reports BMW make a pretty well sorted bike.
It's also different enough to justify keeping the Bonneville
