Well...when the site is up and running you have a veritable army of resources here on the forum to help the IHcrew test out the new site. You should launch a separate page dedicated to 'bugs' found. Will help in fast identification and likely reduce downstream costs due to order mistakes, etc. - most folks here I've met are good humans and happy to just click away but you could always run a context to identify bugs at a 1 euro per bug amount :). Looking forward to checking out the new site and throwing down a test purchase !
possibly user error (ie ME) but the link to this forum’s page (555 SBG) from the product page appears to be broke. I had to run a search to get here. Again, could be user error, but figured I’d call this out in case it happened to others. Cheers.
@coldcashandcolderhearts what size do you have for the leather western vs the vest (e.g. same size 42 Y2, ~38M IH) or did you have to size up for the vest to work)? Thanks !
@WhiskeySandwich how’s the leather squeak breaking in ? It’s hit or miss on my Y2s on how much and how long this exists.
@Darth-fader helpful; Thank you.
I’ll report back here with where I landed with my fit. Hopefully will be helpful to others as they look to guide any preorder decisions.
Update: Received the size 38 today and unfortunately it’s a tight fit in the shoulders and upper chest with a t-shirt when zipped - severely limiting mobility. no way I could wear with a hoodie or UHF. I’ll have to size up to a 40 (not currently in stock). Otherwise it’s a gorgeous jacket; wish it fit me on this go around; very different cut than say the Iron Heart N-1 in size Medium.
@Darth-fader - Amazing, just picked this up myself (in transit)! No preorder but snagged the last 38/M at suggestion of Ben and that I’m a solid 40 in the rest of my Y2’s (size large shirts in iron heart and a medium in iron hearts N-1). I’m worried about the shoulders. Similar to the Kakishibu Scar Chore I went with a 40 and it’s good w/ a t-shirt, but I def snug and filled out if I layer a t-shirt and a UHF. Wish I could have tried on both sizes but they only had the 38M left.
What did you size to vs. normal sizing? What kinds of layers can you get under it comfortably?
The elements (summer heat and damp/rain) were friends to all my Y2s; really helped them shape and fit faster. Goodluck !
Top to bottom (KB-140-T, Chore Jacket Tan Suede, KS-11)
I took a long route on sizing for the Y2 Chore as I'm in between an IT48 (Belstaff), US38/Small or US40/Med (Schott), Small (Allsaints), and typically 40 (Y2 and DoubleHelix). I burned shipping $ and ordered both a 40 and 42 in the suede versions with the idea of returning the size that didn't work. I tried them on w/ single layers, light sweater, and a flannels). I will say, this particular cut that TJ designed is forgiving (i.e. you can go up or down a bit w/ reasonable margin of error).
Ultimately I stuck with the size 40 for the chore (across the board for my Y2s) based on this trial/error along with some big forum help here from @Anesthetist and others on comparable fit to other styles (it looked a bit more fit/polished on my frame IMHO). I have plenty of room to move, and a bit of room to layer, but 9 / 10 if I'm wearing this I'm not layering too heavy or I'm wearing an heavier coat on top. For reference I'm a IH Large in shirt sizes.
Hope this helps.

@Kjunx nicely done! I love the looks of it, color me jealous
Not much of a photo poster but here’s the y2 scar chore after unboxing. Fit is a bit stiffer/tighter than the suede (to be expected) but will likely break in with wear. need to get a picture of it next to my weathered KB140 while it’s still in its pink era.

@Kjunx
….. In my case, it's close to my skin color, so I need to wear it out and get some sun so it diminishes the "it puts the lotion on the skin" Buffalo Bill vibe.

@SonnyTheElder oooooooooh !! I got the same Scar but I’m a 40, so still waiting for those to come in. How pink did it arrive ? Does it have an inner pocket or two since there is a lining? Suggest you wear it and work the buttons during the hot sunny months; that broke in my ib140 buttons like a charm
@bluemantra the rough out jobmasters are amazingly comfortable. The leather is thick but really pliable and the lace to toe allows me to dial in the fit just right. They are really heavy though.
@Ross much appreciated detailed response.
Fit question for the forum. Received my pair on Thursday and got to try on yesterday. For context I’m in between a 10 and a 10.5 redwing and a 10.5 in converse chuck 70s, I have a pair of the jobmaster all black suede flat soles from The Shop (10D) and my brannock is a 10.5B. I purchased a 10D in these Mr. Lous. Currently I can get the boot on, some heel slip (minimal / acceptable) and I can wiggle my toes they are about 1/8 to a 1/4 inch from the front of the boot. My big toe does feel like it’s pushing on the top of the boot due likely to the lower volume in the front. If I remove the insoles they fit better but obv more comfortable with them in from a cushion perspective. Recommendation from the group if this sounds like a good engineer boot fit? I should have purchased both the 10D and 10.5D for comparison but that wasn’t an option. Curious how these break in (ie fit when brand new vs after a bit of wear). New territory for me here in the engineering boot category hence the call for help. Much thanks !
@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot What type of boots are those? I picked up a pair of the all black roughout wesco service boots but looking to add something else (color) to the queue. Thx !
@prpx agreed; worn mine through rain, snow; has undergone indego transfer; kids hot chocolate spill; countless whiskey and dark beer spills, dog slobber and still looks new. Oil transfer around the neck is the biggest visual difference after a while however you can either get the nap to stand back up with a suede brush/eraser which covers this up or a little baking soda can soak it up and then dust it off. Wear it in good health !
