@Denimhead-0 I never thought I would say this, but this is almost too much cheese.

Second day in the UHRs. Cycled in them yesterday. They're probably too heavy for that. One thing I love about this denim is the drape. The weight really holds things together.

@seawolf Vanity to some degree. A jacket is the first part of an outfit people notice. Imo, it's the core of a silhouette. They're the most flexible part of wardrobe. Shifting seamlessly between styles and outfits.

@Jcaz6996 You're probably right. I think it helps set creases in the shoulders and torso. Afterwards, it wears more naturally to me, but it might be a placebo effect.
I could see a leather garment responding to it, though, The sheets brushing the leather, the heat activating the oils in the leather.

@Mister_Brue Honestly, this is the main reason for doing it. At best, I suspect the actual fades are negligible. I think it does contribute to molding the denim to your body. I move a lot during my sleep. Sprawl my arms out. I think it helps in setting crease in the shoulders and sleeves.

@mclaincausey For sure. I don't wear things that are clearly dirty, and I have a pretty liberal washing philosophy. I'm not sleeping in my front yard.

@T4920 It's 21oz. It's not like denim with a dyed weft. You have to use every tool at your disposal to fade it.

@Mizmazzle LOL. I almost added a bit about being single, but I thought it was obvious. They have to really love you if they'll suffer rubbing up against denim all night and getting indigo all over their pajamas.

@seawolf Absolutely with you on this. I'm just as obsessive over the size of the wardrobe as I am wearing them. If I don't think I'm going to wear something I try not to make the purchase, but I love a nice jacket. I don't know what it is but they're my favorite part of any outfit. I hate to let a limited release sell out.

@jerkules I keep the house about 10 degrees above freezing. It makes a top layer is quite nice. Bottoms are no-go. I have to be able to stretch my legs out.

All you Ironheads out there know the biggest problem we face - there's not enough time in the day to fade them all. You can double up or triple up. Create a rotation. The fact of the matter is there's only twenty four hours in a day. I realized I'm not fading anything while I'm sleeping. Completely dropped the ball on seven to nine hours of fade time. To make a long story short, I've been sleeping with my type iii 21oz for about two weeks. It's kind of embarrassing to admit.

@mental_messiah Love the fit, man. I picked up for the 502s, too. Absolutely stone cold stuff with a black top.

@Mister_Brue Me too. When it restocked I didn't think twice. Probably the quickest purchase I have ever made.

@ZackB For sure, man. The beauty is it's not like you're going to hurt the denim. You would have to wash every other day to get a bleach out fade. For me, figuring out a washing process has been part of the fun.

This jacket is a tank. Probably my favorite jacket behind the 101J.

@ZackB I think it just comes down to personal preference. Imo, there's really not a right or wrong way. I'll do a low-agitation soak every couple of months when it starts to stink or it's really dirty. Get all the grime, dirt, and dust out. When I feel all my creases are well broken-in and I'm getting fades along most of the edges I'll do heavy agitation wash. I usually end up with a tub full of blue water. After it's about 80% dry I'll put it on and wear till I dry. I love doing this. The denim molds to your body and your movements.

@ZackB Tbh, I don't really keep track. I had planned on waiting till spring, but I didn't want the fading to be too high contrast, so when I noticed how quickly it fades I changed it up. If I had to guess, I would say around sixty actual wears with fifteen to twenty try-ons, but it could be over a hundred. Lol. I know that's not helpful. I'm wearing multiple jackets so they kind of meld together at this point.

I've had low 20 temps and snow where I live so the 140 has taken a backseat to the 101j-SR. I manage to get a little wear in at home. I gave it a soak. I was going to wash it, but I tried a little agitation and it didn't want to give up any indigo so I figured a soak would do fine.
