    • RE: IHSH-431-BRN - Slubby Heavy Flannel Check Western Shirt - Brown

      I just wanted to share my IH slubby brown story even though it is not the western version. Over the weekend I went to visit my elderly parents and my dad was wearing a “affordable” flannel from Costco that he commented was not very warm, he gets cold easily, he is 95. Even with a undershirt and a old warn out vest it was not enough. I was wearing my brown slubby over a shirt nd I hd taken it off and was hanging on a chair. I mentioned that he should try it on so he could feel the warmth and weight that a IH flannel provides. I need to add that he is essentially blind, with less than 5 percent vision in one eye but he does what he can to make that 5 percent matter. As soon as I started helping put it on him I knew I was in a jam, he immediately said it felt really nice and I realized my beautiful, brand new shirt was rapidly becoming his! My mother commented that he looked handsome in it and he said Marianna (mom, 85), do I look handsome in it and she said “honey you look handsome in it”. Thats when I just smiled and accepted that my shirt that I said on this very forum that I feel for the guy who tries to stop me from getting in my way of this shirt. I just did not think it would be a 95 year old man who I respect and love dearly. So I guess my threat was more bark than bite. I love that shirt but nothing the feeling of seeing him wear that shirt all day looking and feeling like a million bucks. It found its true owner. It think it is so amazing how this brand makes you feel when you wear it. It is more than just clothing, it is a feeling. I did jokingly tell him that it was just a 7 year loan, I hope it is 8! I love this man.

    • RE: UES Clothing MFG .CO.

      @FlavourFade hi there!
      Lets see, the AMUNDSEN is somewhere in thickness between the UES heavy and their extra heavy flannels. It is very soft and easy to wear immediately, it drapes nicely and is simply comfortable to wear everyday. The fabric has a nice feel and some texture to it. What I love is the unique weave of the fabric that allow you see indigo, dark navy and some white in almost like a gauze like look one of my other flannels have this look and feel. As for the blueness……I just really like the UES blues, I think it is on par with TFH indigo flannels being dark yet vibrant at the same time. I think they will both lighten nicely with age.

      As for the Tricotine shirt, at first it feels a bit intimidating because it is very thick twill fabric. 15.5oz if I recall! The top half around the shoulder seams, the collar, the places were several pieces are joined together is when you realize how substantial this shirt is. I won’t lie, even though others enjoy a fade lines from wearing and breaking it in before they wash, I am not that guy, this shirt oozes blue , too much blue lol! I washed mine pretty early on due to not wanting to ruin leather seats, furniture, walls with blue. What I was surprised to find is that at first you feel like the shirt wears you instead of you wearing it but that is not the case. As you wear it, it feels like body heat loosens it up nicely and it begins to hang nicely. I never feel like I’m wearing a shirt that is so stiff that it is uncomfortable but you never get away from feeling like the shirt is substantial and I mean that in the best possible way. Again it is a terrific blue that’s gonna change with time and then it dawned on me when I keep saying how much I like the UES blue it’s because I like seeing what it looks like outside and sunlight, it is a very radiant blue. At least to me. I also think both of these shirts look terrific with my Iron Heart jeans as well as my duck pants from Iron Heart. Heck you can wear either of these with anything. I see milwork recently restocked this today. You should look into it.

    • RE: Iron Heart Loyalty Vouchers - 2026 and Beyond

      Thank you for your transparency and trying to explain the decisions that all of you are having to make. I’m certainly congratulations are due, in this climate of increasing costs for materials and supplies that you have managed to have customer demands that exceed your ability to make enough product! I think most companies would love to have that problem. Asked for perks and discounts, as Giles said it’s none of our business to praise or scold their business practices. Every company has some form of reward program and it’s naïve to think that a brand at this price point does not have a way to celebrate their premier customers. The truth of the matter is every customer whether they buy one item or 100 items always gets treated well by this company. It only makes natural sense that the whales are thanked for their continued patronage.
      Ask for what would I like to see? It’s pretty simple.:
      Please keep the company privately owned. Do not sell to private equity. I know that’s not even an option. I’m just saying that every company I’ve seen that sells to private equity goes to shit. The attraction of this company to me is the personalization that we can actually reach out and talk to the leaders and managers of this company and get a response and have fun dialogue.
      Secondly, don’t change your quality at all, if anything keeps striving for even better that’s what brought us here.
      Thirdly, the customer service of this company to me a second to none, other companies should strive to have this level of how they treat their customers.
      Fourth, I love that you guys do meet and greets, and that you actually attend! Driving to Los Angeles and meeting the crew from Japan and England cemented my thoughts and feelings about this brand.
      Finally, as a United States citizen, and with all the craziness going on over here, I think I can speak and say thank you for the effort made to deal with the tariff nonsense and the efforts made to make it easy to continue purchasing your products.
      Finally, just do what is best to continue to make the best products you can make, and continue with terrific way to engage with us like this amazing forum where so many nice people coexist

    • RE: IHV-51-BRN - 12oz Duck N1 Deck Vest - Brown

      @Go-For-Chill
      Are we secretly brothers……i too went on a health journey, for me it was losing 110 pounds! Fitness, diet and am completely transparent, one of the weight loss drugs to help.
      Changed my wardrobe to clothes of all natural fibers as much as possible and tried to pick style from vendors/designers that I resonated with.
      All of this change in weight, attitude, wardrobe, desire for quality over quantity all led me to Iron Heart and a few others. A journey that started on January 18th, 2023 and ongoing.

      I went to try on the corduroys, I went to try on the chalk stripe, I put on the slubby and I immediately felt like I was home in it. This shirt is more seductive than the pictures make it look. It looks like a shirt you’ve always wanted to own and that you’ve owned for years 🙂 thanks to the others who gave me advice, but you should’ve warned me about this one my bank account hold you responsible!:)

    • RE: IHSH-414-WHT - 9oz Cotton Linen Work Shirt - Off White

      Mine arrived today! Normally a perfect xxl in IH shirts and flannels, went with a xl due to shoulders being bigger than normal xxl sizing. It fits perfectly! I have to admit that before I put it on I was not sure what I thought about it, I let it hang up for a while, and then decided to put it on and took a look in the mirror and then I noticed how much the shirt pops against skin tone. The material is really soft to the hand, but yet looks substantial. I appreciate that the buttons are the same color as the shirt as much as I love snaps and fancy buttons sometimes it’s nice to have a shirt that just blends in nicely. As for the sewing, what do you say it’s always impeccable. I think this shirt is one that could get worn a lot. You can dress it up or you can dress it down. This shirt is cool….have been wearing it all day and have noticed that this “off-white” shirt takes on different hues in different light ranging from off-white to ecru to almost a buttery white! Very nice.

      I have always loved these jackets, but they have often been too warm for where I live. It just doesn’t get that cold anymore, but this new light weight one might fit the bill. I love the look of it, and I think it would be able to be worn in moderate to cold weather!

      Just received my UES Tricotine shirt that they just released at end of 2025. No one really can describe how thick that shirt is until you feel it in person. Between that heavy fabric and that amazing dark indigo I can only imagine what a mess that’s gonna make when eventually you wash it. Lol in the meantime, I need to wear the hell out of it.

      No, but am curious as well….
      Here is probably the most interesting and unique UES item i own….
      After washing, it softens nicely . It has all of the features of a traditional blazer: double buttons, slit back, button cuffs.

    • RE: IH-741-IND - 10oz Double Front Denim Shorts - Indigo

      I bought these shorts, hoping that they would be a denim jeans that would not look ridiculous like some denim jeans look like. These are so comfortable and so cool looking I ended up buying the two other colors! Heck, I think I was the only person in these shorts at the meet and greet in LA due to the warm weather. The fit of these really is that comfortable. They become your go-to almost immediately.
