  • RE: 2014 Spring/Summer Pipeline

    Monday, here it is:
    Was supposed to come out as TW.

    @Giles:

    And here are some pics of the waffle weave.  It is NOT garment dyed.  Someone commented on not thinking the snaps were very Iron Hearty, well (despite the tags), this is going to be a Triple Works release too.  And that is exactly what Triple Works will be:  The same superb craftsmanship, the same painstaking attention to detail and fabrics, but much more experimental

  • RE: 2014 Spring/Summer Pipeline

    Been waiting patiently since 2011 for the waffle weave to happen.
    I stopped bothering G by asking when it was due in 2012 and had almost given up hope.

    I should not have.

    Looks great in work shirt.
    IHSH96 it shall be.

    let's try to be quick enough and grab one.

  • RE: Viberg

    @natehate:

    next pair do i size down to 12.5 or 12? these are 13 and my finger is where my big toe ends on these

    In a pair of shoes/boots that fits, the big toe should never reach the front end of the shoe when standing; otherwise with the elongation of the foot when walking the big toe will be punching and this is going to be painful.

    I think that a thumb between the big toe and the front of the shoe when standing is just the way it should be. Again it depends on the form of the toe cap but it worked for me each time.

  • RE: Viberg

    I am no expert but have two pairs of Viberg (Oxford cap toe and 1940 Cordovan) and I was under the impression that Viberg's trademark was the double seam at the front of the shoes.
    In that sense, seeing the single seam and some minor extras: the box which is white and the pricing of some apparently brand new shoes, I would say something is not right…

    @Shoreman:

    Someone buy these boots before I change my mind:

  • RE: ***Happy Birthday***

    Thanks Lando!

    Was indeed a lovely day.
    Although 2012 definitely has been strange for me until now, I managed to have some good time.

    Cheers!

    @Giles:

    Useful, but I won't be signing up for a feed from:

    "Shoelace News Stories"

    Not sure I could stand the excitement…..

    Yep! I won't either… but eh what would the world be without geeks?

  • RE: Boot/ Shoe Care (Products, Methods, and Suggestions)

    I came across this a while ago.
    Feels crazy to see all this stuff just about shoe laces and lacing technics, but I must confess that since I applied Ian's advices, my laces hold much better and they do not slip anymore.
    Now for the adventurous ones, you also have artistic ways of lacing  😉

  • RE: Pipeline Triple Works…...

    I missed that thread. I like the G. Looks like a perfect spring summer shirt in light shades of green. Looks light enough for summer use as well. Yep!
    That and the waffle weave whenever it comes…

  • RE: IH-634S-RAW - 21/23 ounce raw straight cut

    Committed my first mistake with these yesterday…
    Taking my bicycle in a light rain to go back home... after 10 minutes the jeans got wet and... very heavy and so stiff I could hardly move my legs and had the feeling my kneecap would not be allowed to move anymore and be torn away.
    Next time it rains: Put some rain pant over the jeans  🙂

  • RE: Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots

    Wow lucifer! These look bad.

    Mine are not that far, I guess because I gave them straight from the shop to a cobbler. But I can see them getting a bit loose at the heels.
    I would definitely not buy Wolverine again and can not recommend people to get a pair. At 400€ one could expect more. Even though the leather is amazing, you can find Horween somewhere else…

  • RE: T-Shirts

    Browsing through the forum I found this thread and ordered two Sunspel LS plain henleys.
    Really thin, i.e. not for the German winter, will continue looking… Finish is great though.
    My only concern is: I went for these because of the said quality and the made in England. They also advertise on their homepage about that. What a deception upon reception seeing that one was made in England ok, and the other... made in Turkey!!
    I guess a communication employee at Sunspel would tell me that they do not say on their webpage it is exclusively made in England. Effing sh..! Can just trust them as far as you can throw their shirts, i.e. because of the light weight: not far!

  • RE: DC4001 - DC4/Iron Heart 21oz Collab

    @ampuniakudj:

    just thinking, the denim used in DC4001 is the 21 oz signature denim right? but why is it fade slower than any other 21oz signature models (634S,301S).. again, CMIIW..

    Funny, I would have said exactly the opposite. My DC4001 bled blue at great speed leaving me with smurf hands all the times for about 6 weeks. With the 634s I hardly see any colour loss on shirts etc. I even started to wear white shirts tucked in the 634s because they do not bleed.
    I guess it just depends on the production run and the way the indigo got into the jeans. Each pair or batch is different.

  • RE: Other Brands - New Releases

    @gbougard:

    Aha!

    I just saw on page 147 of the Denim and Work Style issue of Lightning that Pure Blue Japan was offering the following models:

    24-005 24oz indigo
    24-010 24oz purple face
    24-007 24oz deep indigo

    priced between Yen 31,500 and Yen 34,650.

    I searched the web but could not find these anywhere, so I guess they're not out yet. But these are definitely going to be coming my way (well, maybe not the purple face). The fabric on the XX-07 deep indigo is something else.

    DC4 has some PBJ 24oz. I guess it is the 005 that I tried.
    They may not be on site yet, but you can try and contact Daniel for further info…

  • RE: Heavyweight division oxford shirts?

    One is never disappointed by the quality of IH. So pick up your choice between the great white (IHSH44), blue or chambray.
    The great white is really good, I wear it all the time.

    In the Oxfords: I just received a Spellbound Oxford which looks great and feels good.
    I saw that Nigel Cabourn is also doing an Oxford. But at the retail price of 360€ (500$) I guess I would rather go to Place Vendôme in Paris to the Charvet shirt shop and get myself a tailor made shirt or half-tailor.

    Sorry if it has been said already, but G's post made me think: The rear pockets on the prod version will not be lined at all? Or will they be fully lined?

  • RE: IH-634S-RAW - 21/23 ounce raw straight cut

    Looks like it will be another personal Christmas present from myself to myself then 🙂

    Main thing is: as long as I do not forget others it's ok to make myself lots of presents!

    Pity though I will have to wait so long to get MOP snaps on my flannel…  😞
    But say it will be a third Christmas present...

  • RE: Long time, first time, but confused…. Help/Advice

    Yep I forgot to say I find 25oz. too heavy for me, also the 24oz. by PBJ. Was just an info…

    DC4001 is good, 634s is great, imho.
