    • FS - Heat Straps Heavy Lumber Jacket - XS (fits like S/M)

      IMG_6262.jpeg

My beloved XS (fits like small/medium) sized heavy woolen lumber jacket. If you’re not familiar with Heat Straps look them up, really cool company. 36Oz American Hardwear Wool - durable and so so soft.

It’s very hard to give this one up but will feel better if it goes to someone who’ll love and use it lots.

It cost me $560US with shipping. I think it has left the house once; I can’t overstate how much I love this jacket but I’ve got to wear something more than that to justify keeping it surely?!

It’s a great cut, love the shorter hem, gentle taper and roomy chest.

it’s in as new condition selling it to fund baby things and a more modest jacket!

      Shoulder: 19” / 48cm
      Pit to pit: 23” / 58cm
      Sleeve: 25.5” / 65cm
      Back length 26” / 66cm
      Front length 26” / 66cm
      Hem : 19.5 / 49.5

I am 37.5” chest and this fits me comfortably, no restrictions, with or without a thick hoodie.

$560 US or nearest offer. postage from Australia

      Thanks.

Do you know what jackets you’ll be selling? Australian here.
Keen on 777s but heavier weight ideally as I tear through the knees!

    • RE: IH-666 vs IH-461? Best pair for pull-on boots?

Out of the 555 and the 461 which is dlimner in the thigh?

I tend towards skinny jeans but have noticed it’s more about the thigh; if it’s baggy in the thigh I just can’t do it.

Are all IH N1 deck jackets (heavy version) now oiled or will they still be making them
      In standard whipcord?

    • RE: IHSH-235-GRY - 13oz Military Serge Western Shirt - Grey

      Update after a week of regular wear;

It's already breaking in and moulding to my shape. The different cuff button options are handy and all useful too. Tested it over a wool thermal base layer and works well that way too. Have not tested it as a mid layer yet.
I'll grant it's not cozy like a flannel and probably more limited as far as when it's just the right garment. The material probably is more suited to being the outer shell of a jacket.
      But top marks all round.

    • RE: IHSH-235-GRY - 13oz Military Serge Western Shirt - Grey

Just received this one. I think it may have been the very last one left in the outlet. Firstly; very impressed with the level of customer service. It's daunting buying things like this here in Australia with little option to try them out first. And I just have to be very careful about when I splurge on higher priced clothes.

I was tossing up between this and the double cloth but I just couldn't get behind the sawtooth pockets on that one. I was a little nervous having seen the youtube reviews with a 2 year update saying it was still very stiff/bit uncomfortable.

Well....I fucking love this shirt! I think I got lucky that it fits me just perfectly. Sleeves are long enough to go to my wrists when riding my bike to work and back but not too long to get in the way when doing manual tasks. Length in the body is great - as a shortie I don't like shirts to be too long. Sits well on the shoulders and nicely fitted at the chest without being tight on the pits.
To my surprise it is damn comfortable from the start and will only improve I'm sure as it moulds to my body.

Very happy that this thing can and will be a workhorse piece to wear and not be worried about getting it scuffed or dirty. No it's not cosy like a heavy flannell but it's great as a wind barrier and in place of a denim jacket if you're planning to wear one over a T-shirt only. Though it has made me very much want to get a UHF now!

    • RE: IHJ-116-BLK - 14oz Selvedge Denim Fleece Lined Modified Type III Jacket - Black

      @Alex exactly!

Seems to be a lot of things almost like this. But they feature waxed outer shells, or shearling lining which looks amazing but can’t be washed.
Am amazed the wool sherpa line trucker/type 3 is so elusive.

Any chance of a type III, with a weighty denim, and will sherpa lining - like the N1 lining?

@jbjones85 No but I figure eventually you need to wash it in some capacity.

Can anyone advise me on possible shrinkage after first wash? Picked up this Jacket in Size S (black version) and it's a little tighter than I'd like ideally. Will it shrink at all after a first wash?
      Thanks

    • RE: IHM-37-BLK - Oiled Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket - Black

Just bit the bullet on a Size S down here in Oz. Fingers crossed it's the right fit as they have no Mediums left. No option to try on within the state I live in. Blueworks (shop here in Australia) went to the effort of shooting a short video of one of their staff in the jacket to help me determine sizing.
It's by far the most I have ever spent, or even dreamed of spending on a jacket! if it fits right it will be the winter staple.

    • RE: IHM-37-BLK - Oiled Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket - Black

Hi can anyone on comment on the difference in feel between the oiled and non oiled N-1?

Not had a lot of experience with waxed/oiled jackets except that I’ve tended not to enjoy the feeling of them - as in the oil coming off on your fingers. Maybe this is more a problem at the cheaper end only?

I’ve been pining for an N-1
For years, hard to find one here in Australia and hard to bite the bullet on a purchase without testing.

      Thanks

    • RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

As someone obsessed with trying to stay warm in winter, and needing jackets that are rugged, solid etc I would LOVE to see something like the N1 jacket with a hood.
Once it’s cold outside I find a hood and proper collar (not too tight, useable etc) essential to keeping warm.
I have a carhartt jacket that almost achieves this but no collar and the sherpa lining is only synthetic.
And a swanndri that is wool but not thick enough for genuine cold.

Just got mine in Blue/Black. I was expecting a heavy weight jacket given the price. Lighter than I’d hoped but still a very well made piece.
