Hey everyone! I'm Devin - based in Maine. Recently got back into the denim scene after I lost some weight and pulled out an old favorite pair of Levis's with amazing fades that I'd totally forgotten about. Put em on and it was game on. Got me searching and learning (and buying!) again so here I am! Just got a few pieces of IH and love them. I've been part of other online communities (watches and guitars) and am excited to get to know this group. Love all the info and sharing I see here.

Couldn’t wait LOL. Had to confirm the 888 fit cuz I want to potentially buy more before the fall and this is my first pair. Really pleased with how these turned out post soak/wash. Love the weight and feel of these right from day one. Gonna have to rotate them in until summer heat is too much.

I did 30 min soak and significant hand agitation with water as hot as I could possibly tolerate. Hot hot. Did lots of agitation. Drained. Refilled with fresh hot water. Repeated 3 times.
Drip dry.

Legit shrinkage that I was hoping for.

Fresh out the paper bag! This is an XL. Fits a touch tighter than my XL type III Superblack (tho the measurements were darn close) but the XXL measurements on these looked a little too big for my liking. I tried a thin layer under it and it worked.
What do we think!?

I recently picked one of these up second hand and have fallen fully in love with it. They are bad. ass.

BUT .... I have some questions about the button holes. Many of them see to have extra threads and frayed edges. The very bottom one is clean, but the others all have a little something going on.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Should I repair it? Do it myself? Send it off somewhere? Cut it away? Anyone else also see this? I've seen a little of this before on other jackets but not quite to this extent.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Man I was already checking these out and now that I see these fades I'm even more interested. Would also love to know how much they can stretch in the waist. The 36 is about an inch too small and the 38 an inch too big!

Quick follow up on the 633s - I like to land in the 36" - 36.5" zone in the waist. The 36s are showing they start at 34.5". The 38s are showing they start at 36.5" Tapping the infinite wisdom of this group - better to hope the 36s stretch to my comfortable range (that's a good inch and a half or two) or better to go with the 38s and keep them in the 36.5" range without as much tension on them and knowing they can shrink and stretch? Also I always wear a belt. I prefer the other measurements of the 36 but could totally do the 38s if I'd be miserable with that starting waist.

@Sunnergren we’re on some sort of IH cosmic parallel path. I also just ordered one of these! (And the 888XHSib arrive tomorrow lol)

Also gotta give props to @Mizmazzle for his pics. They put me over the edge for the fade needs.

@MTpockets I just grabbed a pair and measured both ways and the IH measurement is .5" larger laid flat. These were IH 633OD 18oz 38s and they were 19" waist using the SE method and 19.5" (maybe a touch under) using the IH method. So doubled it'd be closer to 1 inch larger, actually. That's what I found. This aligns with what some others have been saying and what @Gavin666 seems to have found in his as well.

I'd also recommend looking both up and comparing to what you have at home - that's what I'm doing before I go for the indigos and it's tell me I can go with the 36
