Introducing Boncoura
A Japanese loveletter to classic American workwear.

Of the many things that stood out about Boncoura when we visited them in Osaka last year, it was their genuine love for the clothing that left the strongest impression.

Boncoura is a family-run brand founded in 2011 by Hisashi Morishima. It’s a label born from a deep admiration for classic American workwear, and over the years, the brand has dedicated itself to the careful study and recreation of vintage selvedge denim.

We’re not just talking about reproducing the look of vintage garments — we’re talking about ground-up recreations of authentic textures and construction details, with a keen eye for the way a garment ages over time.

All of Boncoura’s fabrics are custom-made, each the result of years of research and refinement. Their garments are studied reproductions - stitch for stitch and weave for weave. They’re made with love and built to a level of fidelity that would border on obsessive for many.

Boncoura Jeans
15oz Indigo Selvedge Denim, XX & 66 Fits

We have two Boncoura jean styles available in a proprietary selvedge denim: the XX and the 66. The XX is a straight-leg fit with a mid-to-high rise. It has a full top block and thigh, with just a touch of subtle taper below the knee.

The 66 offers a more tapered fit. It’s slightly narrower through the thigh than the XX and tapers more noticeably from knee to hem, delivering an authentic ’60s-era silhouette.

Both are cut from an original 15oz “Ike” cotton selvedge denim - developed over many years under the direction of founder Hisashi Morishima.

“Ike” cotton blends hand-selected raw cotton varieties to recreate the character of mid-century American denim. The yarn is spun with lower tension to preserve natural irregularities, then rope-dyed with pure indigo and woven slowly on vintage-style looms, producing a fabric with a crisp hand, subtle slub, and strong fading potential.

Both styles showcase faithful reconstructions of traditional denim detailing. This includes full-cotton stitching to allow natural puckering, hidden rear pocket rivets, and a deerskin patch. Even the waist labels are individually stamped using a vintage typewriter.

Button-Down Shirt
Indigo Selvedge Chambray

A hardy, single-pocket button-down cut from a custom-developed selvedge chambray.
The fabric is slowly woven on traditional power looms using pure indigo–dyed yarns, resulting in a sturdy cloth with a neppy, uneven texture inspired by vintage deadstock fabrics. Finished with painted brass buttons and contrast stitching.

The Real McCoy's Ball Park Hoodies
12oz, Grey, Black, Light Navy

Hot on the heels of last week’s zipped versions, these Ball Park Pullover Hoodies are knit on the same sinker machines to ensure maximum heft and structure. These things are built tough, but remain soft. Finished with dual ribbed patch pockets, a custom nickel zipper with cotton tape, and a heavy-duty drawstring. Take your pick between grey, black, and light navy.

Blue Seal Chinos
Beige

A dressier, hardier take on your average chino. The Real McCoy’s uses a “West Point” cloth to create a structured, slim-straight trouser. This is a mil-spec fabric with a sateen sheen that - much like a good denim - will soften up nicely as it breaks in. A classic style driven home by a solid fit. Back in Beige.

Based around the Saratoga-style frames made famous by President John F. Kennedy, The Geyser combines genuine celluloid frames with coloured glass lenses. Pure Blue Japan Waterfall Denim Type III
14.5oz, Indigo

Pure Blue Japan’s Waterfall Selvedge is something special — a unique meeting point of advanced weaving and dyeing techniques. Not only is this 14.5oz selvedge denim woven at lower, slub-enhancing tensions and speeds, but the yarns themselves are dyed in different shades of indigo before the weaving is even underway.

One set of yarns is dyed in dark indigos, the other set in light ‘asagi’ indigos. The combination creates a striking vertical gradation that cascades down the cloth like falling water — earning its Waterfall title.

Here in a classic Type III jacket style, complete with iron buttons, contrast stitching, and those all-important handwarmer pockets.

Boro Jacquard Patchwork shirts return in Double Indigo and Double Black. A duo of impressively textured shirts inspired by traditional Japanese boro mending techniques. Each shirt showcases a rich, intricate patchwork of tactile weaves and eye-catching patterns. Momotaro Silk Selvedge Denim Jeans
15oz, Relaxed Tapered

Momotaro Jeans presents a masterclass in luxury denim with their 15oz Silk Selvedge. This proprietary fabric blends organic Zimbabwe cotton and Ahimsa (peace) silk — an ethical silk prized for its strength, softness, and subtle lustre. It also has a touch more texture than heavily processed silks. The result is richly tactile and decadently soft denim with a refined sheen.

Styled in Momotaro’s 200 “Relaxed Tapered” fit, it offers a medium rise, roomy top block and thigh, and a clean taper to a narrow hem.

Type III Trucker Jacket
14.7oz “Tokuno Blue” Selvedge

This modern Type III calls on Momotaro’s 14.7oz, Zimbabwe cotton selvedge denim. Woven in their signature “Tokuno Blue” indigo, this deep, saturated denim has a crisp hand and subtle, woven texture, designed to soften and fade with wear.

The fit refines the traditional Type III style with a slightly slimmer body and sleeves, maintaining a clean, flattering taper. Discreet handwarmer pockets are integrated into the side seams for added function without compromising the jacket’s streamlined look.

The Wool Field Sports Jacket is a masterfully proportioned top layer, unlined yet supremely warm. Fitted with deadstock Talon brass hardware and Shinki horsehide trims. The boxy cut delivers a full-shouldered silhouette, with side cinches for a custom fit.

The M-65 is a faithful reproduction made from OG-107 cotton sateen and equipped with lightweight aluminium zips and an action back for full mobility. Rugged and functional — built with a stowaway hood and four large cargo pockets.

Gusset Tees & Loopwheel Athletic Tees

Gusset T-Shirts are back in white and navy. Each front and rear gusset is individually sewn in from separate fabric — giving you a more robust, shape-retaining tee. It also helps prevent sweat from passing the collar during genuine sporting endeavours, if you’re athletically inclined.

Loopwheel Athletic Tees are also restocked in black, white, and grey. Slowly made on traditional, gravity-fed machines, they have a luxurious hand-knit feel and distinctive horizontal texture. Surprisingly lightweight and drapey for a loopwheel tee, they’re finished with ribbed necklines for a secure, holdfast fit.

S101AX Type I Jacket & S500AX Jeans

Samurai’s AI Plus “Sakura” denim is here in a new Type I jacket and restocked in their S500AX straight-leg jean.

The warp is dyed with a blend of natural and synthetic indigos — rope-dyed to lay the colour on thick while preserving the white core of the yarn beneath. The weft is dyed using natural pigments derived from Japanese cherry blossoms. The result is a deep azure-to-indigo denim with subtle plum undertones. There’s a helping of Samurai’s homegrown organic Japanese cotton in the mix, too — a short-staple cotton that adds a snow-flecked, neppy texture to the heavyweight denim.

‘Sengen’ Jacquard Work Shirt

A single-pocket shirt cut from custom-woven “Sengen” indigo jacquard cloth. This proprietary fabric combines natural indigo dye with subtly irregular stripe formations. The jacquard patterns are woven on a satin base for a soft sheen that shifts in the light. As the indigo fades, that texture will really start to pop.

Finished with triple-needle chainstitch construction, reinforced seams and elbows, and classic chainstitch run-offs.

Freshly restocked, these chinos from Samurai rank among the heaviest non-denim trousers we stock. The SJ42CP chino is made from a weighty 15oz selvedge cloth woven on vintage shuttle looms. This fabric has a pronounced twill that will develop a vintage, work-worn charm as the sulphur dyes evolve and fade.

The Flat Head Single Rider’s Jacket
Seal Brown Shinki Teacore Horsehide

The Flat Head’s Single Rider jacket is available for the first time in a new Seal Brown tannage from Shinki. This exceptional leather is produced using traditional pit tanning—an old-world method reserved for the finest horse hides and cordovan.

Hides are soaked for months in natural mimosa tannin pits, a slow process that converts raw hide into leather gradually and deeply, creating leather with remarkable density, strength, and character.

The result is a beautiful leather full of roasted coffee, chocolate, and tobacco hues, with a subtle “tea-core” effect that will emerge naturally with wear. As with all Shinki leathers, it will age with depth, nuance, and charm that you simply will not find elsewhere.

A premium take on the classic Lee Storm Rider.
Wool-lined, corduroy-collared, and made in Japan from proprietary 14.5oz Japanese selvedge denim. The yarns are 100% Zimbabwe cotton, locking in a soft hand and a ton of natural texture while promising some lovely ageing as the jacket breaks in. Finished with steel shank buttons, Japanese urea side adjusters, and durable chainstitch construction.

Viberg N1 Boot
Washed Brown Waxed Flesh, 2040 Last

A faithful reproduction of the classic Marine Corps Field Boot, built with a Horween Washed Brown Waxed Flesh upper and a Raw Cord heel & sole from Dr. Sole.

Also known as Huntsman leather, waxed flesh is treated much like Horween’s Chromexcel, but finished on the flesh (roughout) side. You get all the durability and water resistance of grain leather with the added character of roughout. Extra tumbling softens the leather and unlocks a little of that nap, too.

The N1 is built on Viberg’s roomy 2040 last and uses signature double-row stitchdown construction. Lifelong durability meets easy resoling.

Fortela Selvedge Denim
Introducing the Johnny & John Jean

Two denim styles from Italy’s Fortela just landed.

First up is the Johnny from Fortela’s “Made in Japan” line, woven, cut, sewn, and finished entirely in Japan. Crafted from organic 14oz redline selvedge denim, this classic five-pocket jean draws inspiration from 1960s-era Levi’s, offering a mid-to-high rise, a relaxed thigh, and a gentle taper below the knee. It’s finished with branded copper rivets, a chainstitched hem, and a paper patch in a further nod to the 501.

All Fortela’s signature run-off stitches are removable.

Next up is Fortela’s John, an inspired meeting point of Japanese denim weaving and fine Italian construction. It’s cut from one-washed 13.3oz Japanese selvedge denim that balances rich texture with an effortlessly stylish drape. Structured yet soft, the rope-dyed indigo yarns promise beautiful ageing over time. Offered here in a relaxed tapered fit.

Studio D’Artisan’s 1907 Jeans are made from a custom-woven 14oz selvedge denim designed to replicate the beautifully knurled and textured surface of sashiko-stitched fabric.

The yarns are dyed using the traditional Kase-zome method, producing a rich, vivid indigo with exceptional depth and fade potential. Finished in a classic mid-rise, straight-leg fit and one-washed for immediate wear with minimal shrinkage.

The SD-1002 has a high rise with plenty of room through the thigh, knee, and hem - comfortable without tipping into baggy territory. This jean is cut from Studio D’Artisan’s 15oz “GL3” selvedge denim, which is woven on historic Toyoda GL3 shuttle looms. The low-tension weave creates exceptional texture and depth and takes on tonnes of indigo dye - so these will fade beautifully with time and wear.

These aren’t your average white tees - they’re knit on vintage “Tsuri-ami” loopwheel machines using ultra-rare Suvin Gold cotton. They have a silky lustre and a texture that’s second to none. Iron Heart Work Shirt CPO
17oz Cotton Duck

Iron Heart’s riff on the utility and aesthetics of the humble CPO is back for another year. The IHSH-189 is a work shirt/CPO mashup cut from a 17oz duck fabric. Built to take a beating and look all the better for it, the shirt features two chest pockets up top and a set of slash pockets at the hips. Branded copper snap buttons provide an added touch of ruggedness.

Waffle Knit Long Sleeve Thermals

The IHTL-1301 thermal crew neck uses a waffle knit structure to balance insulation and comfort. It makes for an impeccable base layer, but it’s also substantial enough to be worn solo. Over time, the waffle knit softens, shapes, and relaxes - developing a comfortable and natural drape. Finished with four-needle flat seam construction. Now restocked in olive, grey, and white.
