Advice for anyone reading this: G and I were chatting one day about investments and when comparing notes, I realized we had a hole in our investment strategy. We had a rainy day fund of cash that wasn't doing anything. It was there for when/if we needed it...the question then is when and how fast do you need it.

We started putting the rainy day fund into short term GIC's that come to term in 1 year increments and invested them in quarters, so that every 3 months something is coming due and we can either reinvest or take it out for the rainy day...

That conversation is not making huge amounts of money, but it is making money. Thank you @Giles as it was a brilliant conversation.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a GIC?
      Thanks

Out of curiosity, what is the difference between the IH 526 SBG and the IH 526J SBG?
I’ve spent the last 10 minutes looking, bothe modified type 3 21 oz black fades to grey? Only difference I can see is one seems to have leather patch and is out of stock. The other doesn’t and is coming soon.
I’m sure there is something fundamentally obvious which I’ve missed! (Not trying to be clever or awkward just curious and confused!)

…… and the W colour is different.

Thanks @Alex the colour of the W is so obvious, don’t know how I missed that 🙈

@goosehd thank you. Think the product description on the website might need correcting. Both are described as modified with the internal pockets.

I think I have a defective model, does not like water (will avoid puddles at all costs) and loves to lie out in the sun (admittedly low 20’s Welsh sun, not mega furnace sun)

6-7 months out of the year, it is extremely peaceful where I live. You can walk outside and hear animals often sighting them as well. With this being the long weekend, every weekend cottager is here and all hell breaks loose until the end of the season often until late September or early October. I know I shouldn’t complain as I’m grateful for what I have, but hell…

The biggest issue is that people who would never behave badly in their own neighbourhoods, act like complete arses whilst at their weekend getaways.

Wasn’t it Jean Paul Sartre who quoted “He’ll is other people”

      Can totally relate!

@northsouthdenimguy since being on this forum, I have been taken down rabbit holes with boots (ending up with a pair of Viberg services boots), shirts, jackets. Didn’t expect to be going down one with fancy stem irons I must admit! 😵 😂

After a few wears, washed mine for the first time today. As I really liked the fit , was a bit wary reading about some having shrinkage.
30 C delicate wash (shortest cycle I have) with the minimal spin. Drying on hanger.
      Pre wash:
      Shoulder 43
      Length 71
      Chest 52
      Waist 49
      Opening 50
      Sleeve 62

      Post Wash:
      Shoulder 43
      Length 70
      Chest 51.5
      Waist 48.5
      Opening 50
      Sleeve 61.5

Admittedly I did ‘stretch’ it out when damp, (especially the sleeves as length was just right but wouldn’t want to be any shorter), both to get rid of the wrinkles and make ironing easier and to retain the dimensions.

    • RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY - WAYDT (PICS)

Had a washing splurge, was only going to be two pairs of jeans but made the most of the nice day and the fact that MrsC is not here to query the pre soaking, short wash minimal spin and rolling in towels before hanging that I do!!
      21 0z, 142 ib, 21oz superblack, Real McCoy, 265, Duck (all bottoms 634S)
443 drying upstairs on hanger after first wash (hoping on no shrinking as some reported as it did fit brilliantly pre wash)
