  • RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

I use these pattern hooks that I got locally from Imogene + Willie here in Nashville. I've tried to source different ones or even make my own, but for $3 a piece they are hard to beat.

@T4920 said in BROTHERHOOD OF BIB:

Still holding about for a Hickory bib re-release, or a lucky find on the secondary market..

I'd 100% arrive in Hamburg head to toe in that fabric ❤

    Oh yea?

  • RE: What's your IH secret pleasure that nobody knows??

I have a lot, but the ones that jump out first are:

This UHF I have where the lines match up perfectly on the back collar, yoke, and back panel:

How the panels on all IH shirts are always perfectly mirrored. Most notably on UHF pockets:

And how the lines are pattern matched perfectly on seams:

  • RE: The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread

My Grandfather was a pilot and a navigator in the Navy and Air Forces during WWII. The plane he was on went down somewhere over the Philippines in 1945, and he floated in the ocean for a few days before being rescued. Somewhere over the years, the Type A-11 that he wore (and was wearing at that time) found it's way into my hands. It wasn't working, and is rusted out in areas (obvs) but has always meant a lot to me. I finally found another one from the same maker (Elgin) and the same year (1944) and decided to pick it up. It is also in perfect working order and has a period-correct olive watch band on it! Beyond stoked to be wearing this piece and think of Grandpop every time I put it on!

Here's his original watch, which I have on a shelf on our family gallery wall:

  • RE: Random Announcements

Local denim makers here in Nashville, Imogene + Willie, hosted a Pinewood Derby race in their backyard on Thursday night. I entered on a whim and won first place.

Also, when naming and painting my car, I learned that there were different spelling of Selvage and Selvedge depending on the country. The more you know!

If you just need some time alone, tell your kids that you're in time out and you'll be back in 10 minutes.

Well, someone will spend those dollars and get the bug, then they'll eventually find their way here to the real thing.

@endo was out for lunch with a buddy the day he died, and he was talking about how great eraserhead was. I watched it that night and thought, wow this is the worst movie I have ever seen.

  • RE: Guitars anyone???

Just picked up a 1964 Fender Bassman matching head and cab at a local pawn shop for $900 this afternoon. Don't really need it, but will likely use it to trade for something else.

  • RE: The Iron Heart Forum 15th and the Iron Heart 22nd Anniversary Party

Love seeing everyone's posts and pics! One of my fav things was seeing all the significant others wearing IH. I'm still hoping one day to get my wife in some IH gear. I might have to start small with a bag or something along those lines.

  • RE: Random conversations

XHS is amazing. I tried some and wasn't as into them, thinking it wasn't for me. Eventually, I realized it was just the cut that wasn't my jam. That said, though, I do think I like 21 more than the 25. And I am loving the all year round wear that I'm getting out of the 17oz natural denim.

As said above, I have way too much than I can really wear to see all the fades. I tend to really just focus on 2-3 pairs at a time, and rotate shirts in and out. Can't wait for it start getting cooler here so I can get back to wearing more than just my IHSH-13's over a tee.

  • Pens, Pencils, Markers, notebooks, journals and other writing related things!

This thread is for all of those that are obsessed with a good writing instrument, or a good notebook. Whatcha writing on and with these days?

I just recently dropped my well loved rOtring 600 pencil, and bent the tip (again). I fear if I try to bend it back again, this time it may break.

Should we do a 3 rounder at a different pace and see if it works for everyone? I'm also down for one downvote per round as well, liked that with some other leagues.

  • RE: Ebbets Field Flannels

Probably have a few more floating around. I find them all the time for like $10-15 at my local Buffalo Exchange. My son found the maroon "AL" one at goodwill for $4.

  • RE: Unpopular opinions

No to crocs. Have never owned and will never own. My kids have them for wearing to and from the pool and such, and my wife has them for things like taking the dog out.

I’ll add this to the discussion. I think 99% of the hype shoes that are worn by sneakerheads (or whatever they are called) are hideous. Jordans, Yeezys, etc etc. Wouldn’t wear them if they were free.

  • RE: Scuba anyone?

I’m thinking of fulfilling a lifelong dream and getting into scuba diving this coming year. There are surprisingly a lot of places in and around Nashville to get certified and to dive.

  • RE: Nashville, TN (USA)

Franklin Road Apparel. I’ve only been there once a while back, never make it all the was down to Franklin these days. We had a Snake Oil Provisions for a hot minute, but it came and went very quick. There’s Imogene and Willie and Stag on 12 South, and RRL not too far from those. Nowhere that sells stuff comparable to IH, though.

Gruhn is good if you’re into vintage guitars, I’ve always preferred Carter Vintage guitars though. Plus it’s a little closer into town by just a couple miles.

You’ll have a better time getting into stuff if you’re here on a weekend than during the week.
