What’s up friends! Just a quick note to let you know that production for season 3 of Iron Cast is underway!!
We have a really great line up for you on this one, but I can reveal that we’re opening with Ben & Miranda from Snake Oil Provisions, and the cool thing about this one is that Ben decided to use his content guy to film it!
We’re aiming to launch the season sometime in May.
Best,
Olly.
And now for a more familiar face (and handle). @Matt from the forum steps up to the plate for episode 8!
Matt Raspa is an adored and key member of the Iron Heart Forum. He has blessed the forum with his wild stories of retiring early, buying an airstream and setting off cross-country with his family.
This ep was recorded over zoom, during a storm in California.

Last one, you lot!
It's the final episode of the season, and what better way to end it than with owner of Iron Heart International, @Alex . We last spoke to Alex in episode 2 of season 1, and since then a lot has changed. We talk about his travels to Germany to see how they make the Iron Heart 'Big Buck', his travels to China, and there is a short, but very sweet interview with Iron Heart Boss, Harakisan.
As I say at the end of the ep, if you'd like to have any guests in particular for season 4, either email me at hello@highkickmedia.com, or get me here. Otherwise, have a lovely christmas, and a fucking terrific 2024.
Until next time!

It's been a while, but we're back with a seriously good line up. Welcome back to season 3 of Iron Cast by Iron Heart International. Episode one's guests should need no introduction: Ben Neuhaus and Miranda Malloy of Snake Oil Provisions, Los Angeles.
We catch up with Ben to find out how he's doing after he came close to death in a motorcycle accident, we hear about what Snake Oil Provisions has in common with a popular video game, and how Ben and Miranda got the whole thing off the ground.
Join us for an audio (and visual) conversation with our regular host, Olly Walker.
Watch the ep on YouTube and BE SURE to subscribe if you don't already.

UPDATE: I just recorded episode 5 - Spoiler Alert - with Rob Schaeffer of Schaeffer’s Garment Hotel! That means we’re half way through the season. I’m going to have a catch up with @Alex this week, but I don’t think it’s out of the picture that we’ll be able to launch in the next couple of weeks - V exciting. Anyway, here’s a photo of Rob I took at his store in LA. He’s just styled the latest Queens of the Stone Age press shoot hit me up if you have any questions or requests for season 3 and beyond. Best, Olly.
Thanks guys, this is awesome! I’ll keep you all in the loop with updates.

Episode 6 with your boy Bryan Szabo! This is a heavy denim talk with some culture - and stoicism - thrown in.
Bryan Szabo is the mind and driving force behind The Indigo Invitational - the event of the year for all denim heads. Bryan is also a musician and an author, writing one of your most essential coffee table reads, 'The Rebel's Wardrobe'.
Olly catches up with Bryan over zoom from his family home in Norway.

What’s up guys,
Just a quick one to let you know there won’t be a release this week. Ep 9 will go out on the 15th and the final ep will go out on the 22nd.
In the interim, the final ep will be with your boy @Alex, so we’re going to try and do what we used to be able to do before I moved to La La Land: drink great wine and talk ideas. If you have any questions you’d like to ask him (or me) it’ll be a great time to get them answered.
Cheers!
Guys, I’m planning something special for ep10 of the podcast. Probably pretty obvious after asking this question, but I would love your input: if you could ask Harakisan anything, what would it be? Answers on a stamped addressed envelope. Thanks!
Here we go again! They're coming at you weekly now. Don't forget to subscribe, if you haven't already.

@EdH Snake Oil Provisions will be putting this one on their YouTube. I don’t have the team to film Iron Cast.. yet.
Here's your weekly installment of Iron Cast. This week with author of Ametora, and Status and Culture, W. David Marx. I was pretty nervous to talk to David - an author AND a Harvard graduate - so hopefully it doesn't show.
Ametora
Status and Culture
W. David Marx is an author, brand consultant and Harvard scholar. His first book 'Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style' has graced the bookshelves of denim heads and fashionistas across the globe.
Olly catches up with him over zoom to discuss his new book 'Status and Culture: How Our Desire for Social Rank Creates Taste, Identity, Art, Fashion, and Constant Change'.
He currently lives and works in Japan.

Here we go again, and this episode marks the half way point to season 3!
Rob Schaeffer of Schaeffer's Garment Hotel is a designer, stylist and vintage collector. His brand embodies Hollywood Rock and Roll chic, with a dash of motorcycle culture thrown in for good measure.
I sat down with Rob in his store in Hollywood to talk about fatherhood, styling the Queens Of The Stone Age, and nearly burning his whole workshop down from trying to age a hoodie!
If you haven't heard of SGH, it's a brand you'll really enjoy getting to know.

I've wanted to talk to Paul for YEARS, so it's pretty cool I finally got the chance.
Paul d'Orleans AKA The Vintagent is an author, curator and brand consultant, with an encyclopedic knowledge of motorcycles and their history. He has written two books: Ton Up! A Century of Cafe Racer Speed and Style, and The Chopper: The Real Story, not to mention co-authoring a grip of other published works.
Olly catches Paul in Santa Monica, where they discuss all things fashion, but mostly motorcycles.
