I use these pattern hooks that I got locally from Imogene + Willie here in Nashville. I've tried to source different ones or even make my own, but for $3 a piece they are hard to beat.

Still holding about for a Hickory bib re-release, or a lucky find on the secondary market..
I'd 100% arrive in Hamburg head to toe in that fabric
Oh yea?

RE: What's your IH secret pleasure that nobody knows??
I have a lot, but the ones that jump out first are:
This UHF I have where the lines match up perfectly on the back collar, yoke, and back panel:
How the panels on all IH shirts are always perfectly mirrored. Most notably on UHF pockets:
And how the lines are pattern matched perfectly on seams:

RE: The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread
My Grandfather was a pilot and a navigator in the Navy and Air Forces during WWII. The plane he was on went down somewhere over the Philippines in 1945, and he floated in the ocean for a few days before being rescued. Somewhere over the years, the Type A-11 that he wore (and was wearing at that time) found it's way into my hands. It wasn't working, and is rusted out in areas (obvs) but has always meant a lot to me. I finally found another one from the same maker (Elgin) and the same year (1944) and decided to pick it up. It is also in perfect working order and has a period-correct olive watch band on it! Beyond stoked to be wearing this piece and think of Grandpop every time I put it on!
Here's his original watch, which I have on a shelf on our family gallery wall:
And here is the one I just picked up:

RE: Random Announcements
Local denim makers here in Nashville, Imogene + Willie, hosted a Pinewood Derby race in their backyard on Thursday night. I entered on a whim and won first place.
Also, when naming and painting my car, I learned that there were different spelling of Selvage and Selvedge depending on the country. The more you know!

Well, someone will spend those dollars and get the bug, then they'll eventually find their way here to the real thing.

RE: Unpopular opinions
@endo was out for lunch with a buddy the day he died, and he was talking about how great eraserhead was. I watched it that night and thought, wow this is the worst movie I have ever seen.

RE: Ask Giles and/or Alex Anything
Oh yea, I can’t stand buttons on shirts either. I don’t mind bigger buttons, but smaller ones NOPE.
In my previous life as a firefighter and emt, some of us would have a zipper installed under the placket of our shirts and glue the buttons on top.

@Mizmazzle Work shirts rarely work for me. When the length is right it's usually too wide and sloppy looking. When the width is right it's too short. Ive got a couple of work shirts among many westerns, so that's definitely my preference. I also have the good fortune of being semi-in-between-sizes for Western cuts, so I normally go up the half size to XL in UHF for a more comfy fit and down the half size to things in harder faced denser fabrics like denim or serge.
This is all 100% me, too. Same sizing and everything. I also prefer a little extra room in the shoulders, so generally go up to an XL.

RE: Summer wardrobe rotation
I'm switching up my closet as we speak. I packed away top coats and leathers a couple weeks back, and I'm going to bring out some short sleeve button ups this week or next. I regularly switch up my closet layout, but the big shifts are peak spring and peak fall.

RE: All Things Mac/ Apple
Yea I've definitely gotten over notifications. I've removed social media and all that crap from my phone. I also turned off all notifications from everything except calls or text messages. Most of my people know that if they want to get me quickest, just call me.
That's about where I was with the apple watches, though. I don't care about the health and sleep trackers, and only would really use it to quickly answer messages. I remember thinking it was going to be a game changer for listen to music, but I remember spotify being really clunky on it.

RE: All Things Mac/ Apple
So I tried an Apple Watch maybe 5 or so years ago and thought it wasn't for me. I know there have been many new versions and such since then. Am I missing anything? Wondering if I should step to one and try it again.

We're itching to get going with our stuff here in Nashville. We usually can't start until mid-April, since it l usually likes to tease us and make us think it's spring, before freezing a couple more times.

RE: GOOD ART HLYWD - A Gallery
Anyone else have an issue with a curb chain bracelet clasp that keeps getting unhooked? It’s happened 4 times in the 2.5 years that I’ve had it, where it got undone and has fallen off my wrist.
Luckily 2 of the 4 times have happened around my house, but a couple of the times I thought I’d lost it forever.
