Yeah, I tried on the 1883s in Texas this Xmas - very nice boots. I have a pair of thrashed 2000s that I wore non stop in college - they desperately need new soles but the stitching is so busted, it’s not really worth it.

I’ve been curious about the Chisos - I agree they are probably kinda overpriced.

And honestly,
Not sure I can rock full snips being a bigger guy.. I kinda settled into my hybrid toes (I’m sure there is an official name that I have no clue about lol)

I'd call those a wide square toe, but that's by no means an authoritative statement. It probably has at least a couple of different names, depending on manufacturer.  That tapered square toe (receded, French, Lucchese, etc.) is probably my favorite for cowboy boots.

Why, Thank you. I miss posting regularly on WAYWT. When and if this crazy north Norwegian winter lets up I’ll be back. When I do I’m going to trying buttoned up shirts and flipping cuffs over cuffs.
