We have run out of space, particularly in the goods in/packing/goods out area.

To make more space for @AdamC and his team, we are (well, Les is) building a new mezzanine above the jeans storage area.  This will mean we can move some racks that are currently on the ground floor next to the shipping area, doing this will allow us to expand Adams area.

The joists and joist hangers have arrived, we should be able to start hanging joists next week.  Les's biggest problem is a Monday, so I never bank on seeing him on a Monday, and treat it as a bonus if I do  🙂

We cant install the floor until we get new lights installed, otherwise, we put the current jeans storage area into darkness.  So once the joists are up, we have to wait for the lights, which we will suspend from the joists.  Then I have to coerce Jamie the sparkie to come in and wire them up for us.

Once the lights are working, we can then install the floor.

Oh, and at some point, stairs will need to go in.  They have been ordered but I suspect it will be The New Year when we see them.

And in the mean-time, I'm praying that I configured them correctly  😶 😶

              Looking great guys.

@Giles Do give me a shout should you need an opinion on illumination. I take it, subject to the racking layout you will be running with the solution reached in the other spaces?

@GC Thanks. I bought another 9 units of the Wave 900.  They are intended to hang from the joists and light the lower level.  It may be too many, but then I'll use some of them on the upper level, but I am not worrying too much about the upper level until we have the lower level sorted….

Brilliant! Nothing a quick mock up won't sort. I would start by temporarily mounting two longitudinally, in line/beneath the hangers. You may well find that two across the width of the room will suffice, subject to the furniture layout and what it is @AdamC will be doing in there.  🙂

                  *2 per section of ceiling.

It's the same height as the other 2 units we have.  We have the problem of some cross beams being at chest height, but it's still a lot of storage…

Are these 2x6? If so what is the span of that middle section?

You infact did, per our good old german DIN 18065 says that a frequently used Stair should have a Rise between 14-20cm and a going between 23-27cm, which means your in regulation. 18cm/26cm is as stated in the Books rated as "bequem" which means comfortable. Sounds like a nice Stair.
