I watched Avengers last night. I have this image of your cat going airborne like a bad guy getting launched off Thor's hammer…

I'll counter all the drinking in here, and say that other than the year before last year (when I tried again in ernest), I've been sober for 5 years. Not had a drink for the last 18 months. Have some $50/bottles being cellared under the stairs since 2009….Happiness is swimming, cycle, coffee, and denim
Good for u…I have been clean of any shite since October of 2009. I was at one point in love with pain meds. Hardest thing iv ever had to deal with

C'mon Doug, I've got two small children and a wife that gets hurt if I do something "fun" without her. I can't even remember the last movie I saw in a theater. We couldn't begin watching Avengers until after the little monsters were asleep, since we wanted to hear the dialog. Crazy, I know.

I watched Thor about 15-20 minutes at a time over a period of two weeks. It's sad, but this is my life now.

Thor did not suck, worst Marvel films recently have been X-Men First Class and the (not so) Amazing Spiderman.
-
I enjoyed Thor
-
Thor wasn't bad, and I thought Spiderman was pretty good. But that could be just because I think Toby Maguire is slightly creepy and Emma Stone makes everything happy.
Didn't see First Class, but it didn't look good, based on commercials.

Not looking forward to the (now upcoming) JLA movie…... but I can't discuss it further or I'll end up in a "Christopher Nolan is the most over-rated director ever" argument.
-
Mega, no first class? Are you holding out hope for "days of future past"? Fassbender as young magneto was fun, and having him and Sir Ian together hopefully will be good. Really crossing my fingers that man of steel will rule, Michael Shannon as Zod…. Whoa.

@DougNg, it was 7-days a week of excess drinking here that led to my sobering up all those years ago. I still have the taste, and what works best for me is not starting, as it always ends badly. I've aged enough to realize that =). Sorry to hear about your cat. On the kettlebells, I'll be starting cross fit in the next few weeks for a general bulking up. I recall seeing your bulking up via WAYWT pictures; epic!
@Dirty Denim, wow, that would not have been fun, really good work getting clean
@Giles :), Someone's got to keep them honest ,enjoy :).
Hopefully I didn't come off high and mighty with a sobriety comment. It's a contrast, and as equally real/valid. To each their own, and I'm supportive of all experiences and forms of life. If it works for you power to you. For me it didn't and I enjoy this new way of being/experience greater. #balance.

Wow, I didn't think my opinion on Thor was that dissenting. Just didn't appeal to me
Snowy: Don't be sorry about the cat. That one is a pain in the ass, and is sturdy enough to take the hit. Let us know how crossfit works out for you. I looked into it at one point, but the cost is prohibitive for me as my wife and son like to go to the gym with me as well. $600 a month is a little hard to swallow.
