When I was younger, people used to wash their clothes when they get dirty or smelly… 😉

I would prefer natural leather over all other. You can oil and tan it yourself to darken it. Much cooler 😉

Maybe it's a generational thing, but I remember growing up and seeing a lot of people that didn't wash their jeans…

I feel that the 634SB is still ok. The 634SR will be a definite No.

So?? jeans fade, and washing them is normal usage of a garment…not washing them when they are soiled is quite odd...

not that we never wash our jeans just trying to keep it at a minimum so we get more of a contrast fade rather than a overall even fade. at least thats why i do it.

If I recall right, the visible selvage line got cut because it's a tapered fit

Not quite correct, the whole cut of the 301 was designed for a non selvedge denim so showing the selvedge line was not an important consideration.  When we designed the 666 which is also tapered, we disigned it to show the selvedge line.

The 301S is selvedge, look at the fly construction.  The only 301 jean that is non-selvedge is the 9301.  G
