i'm a chauvinist pig & believe i should open doors & fix or get stuff fixed when it is broken, the wife should clean & stay in the kitchen & valentines day no matter what she says is something she cares about. doesn't mean any of that stuff happens, just the way i see it >:(, sort of like oh it's only the anniversary don't make a big deal about it

do you think it is appropriate to have internet interventions? if you see a forum member going down the wrong path what do you? i'm kind of serious with that question as i have been watching some weird behavior

This will be the first Valentines day away from my Fiance in 10 years. She is coming to visit the 16th, and I am assuming I will have to do something seriously romantic to make up for the fact that I can't do anything the day of Valentine's Day.
Also with you on the opening doors, fixing, etc.

I use it as an excuse to do something nice for my wife. I like doing nice things for my wife, Valentine's Day is just an excuse for me to do it. We buy gifts for each other, go out to dinner sometime between the 10th and the 18th. Sometimes I'll buy flowers, although I've been having a hard time finding a decent florist
I'm also a chauvinist as well, I always hold the door for a female and carry their bags/boxes for them, even if it's at work. And I never let a female pay for my drinks. Just the way I was raised

Monday, I completely agree with you on this. This will be the first Valentines day away from my Fiance in 10 years. She is coming to visit the 16th, and I am assuming I will have to do something seriously romantic to make up for the fact that I can't do anything the day of Valentine's Day.

I was just over in Ottawa this weekend for Winterlude. Since your fiance is coming next week, check out a couple of places (e.g. Snowflake Kingdom, it is not just for kids) for a few hours, go skating on the Rideau Canal and take her to a nice restaurant afterwards.
