Has anyone here taken on their own overdye projects? I really love the IH overdye look, and would love to try it on my own oldschool IH womens jeans. Though, I am wondering if I can pull it off without boiling them, and shrinking them into an unwearable artifact. The info about the overdye process online is very graciously transparent, and I have been generally tempted to see if I can get the look down myself. I would love to hear more about anyone who's taken on this project before, or helpful tips on pulling it off.

@mitzimeow here is a link to “dye” for reference. Been done a few times here with quite a few threads to read through.

@goosehd I've taken a look through these, but no one seems to be throwing any jeans into the pot, mostly just tshirts and shoes. Thought it was worth asking to get more specific info, but thanks for the pointer.

@Nik has some experience overdying his jeans in the washing machine. From memory, he did a pair of 888S-21 with a grey dye.
P.S. I figured out how to find his posts about it. Do an advanced search, you can filter for "Nik" as the user, and search for "smoke grey" in posts.

The extractor shoulder dimensions come in very very small relative to almost everything else Iron Heart produces. Is there a stylistic reason for it? A production issue? Iron Heart is so good about making products that fit well with everything else they produce, but this product seems to be an extreme outlier.
Figured I'd ask this here so as not to clog up the specific product link. It would be awesome to see the dimensions for other type 3 jackets replicated with the extractor.

As far as im aware there is no real reason, The Extractor was a very very limited run we only got 5 pieces, we might of just been very unlucky that the ones we got were slightly smaller than normal, normally when we do create any sort of sizing chart we measure 2 of every size to create the sizing charts but we only got 1 in some sizes.

I'm glad this thread exists.
Elsewhere here on the forum, I saw mention of someone removing and then restitching the leather patch to keep it from shrinking or taking too much of a beating in a super hot soak. While I'm not intending such punishment on a pair of jeans, I do want to relocate a patch for a bit of customization. Are these things you're doing? Or are you having a local shop or seamstress perform this reattachment? If so, what sort of equipment do they need or that I need to ask about, to properly restitch a leather patch?

@Bobcat-Sig the holes are already in the leather taking the hard part out of the process. A good heavier gauge needle and thread is all that is needed lining up the needle with the holes from the patch.
