Is there any science in doing an ocean/sea wash with ones jeans? Or is it just a fun thing to do?

Can I go TTS with Asics Gel Lytes?
Asics always fit me the same as Nike, Mizuno and pretty much every other athletic shoe. No experience with that specific model, though.

Ok, quick question for those of you with the IH-801: how breathable is the duck fabric? Is it significantly less than the 21 oz denim?
I'm trying to decide if a pair will be too hot for me to wear in the 4+ months when the temperatures here in Texas exceed 95 degrees. Any insight into the wearability of the duck loggers in hot weather would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I wouldn't say they are more breathable than the IH-634S but the fabric is lighter. Guess it also depends on how you size them. I went one up with a W33 for a baggier fit. Tell you what, I will do half the day in IH-634S and half the day in IH-801 tomorrow. It is currently in the high 90's here in NYC so it should be comparable… Expect a full analysis tomorrow evening!

Not to my knowledge…

^some argument, that the salt will keep the indigo better in (like Atelier la Durance claimed) and that rubbing with sand will help the contrasts. but then, I doubt that there is any big difference to a standard soak. And I don't know, if I would want to have seawater in my jeans (at least, without a further wash).

well, when you DIY dye garments, you can use normal salt to "attach" the color. > so probably salty water will keep the indigo. And of course you need to rinse them afterwards…

shoreman, i'll give it a try for you if no one else offers between now & Friday morning, but it might be better to get someone outside of NY to do it for you. I'm pretty sure they would charge me taxes & such while out of state you beat that additional cost.
if no bites, send me a pm with info & I'll see what I can do
**Hec, I'm still waiting on your package but once I get it will let you know

Any chance of a IH schedule - what's coming up in such and such a month? I'd love to see a rough idea of what's coming up all in one place. If it's already been suggested then I +1 it. If it's already been dismissed, well, apologies…

roger that….
thought that'd be the case. -
