How is Denim weighed, i.e…. how does a pair of jeans become 21/23oz? Fabric weight is measured in ounces per square yard (1 yard X 1 yard of the unseen fabric). The denim is 21/23 because "raw", it's weight is 21oz, and after a soak/wash it will be approximately 23oz. These jeans WILL shrink

what does IH do with all the sample product that we see here on the forum? I thought I saw a few threads where IH put some one offs up for auction, so i'm assuming the majority of pieces go to IH employees, right?

All worldwide release samples are made in Large (happens to be mine and Haraki's size, so we can gauge cut). For non Japanese release items, I either make Large if I need to check out cut, or if I think I will be happy with the cut, I make it in another size so that I can have someone else "test it out"or give it to the person who dreamt up the idea or auction it. If it is a new denim, I usually give it to someone i know who can trash the shit out of it - me.

Whatever half decent jeans I could find, Brand did not particularly matter. Patagonia and Ex Officio for outdoor and fishing gear
Canali suits because I was a corporate arsehole
 Sage Fishing rods
 Charlton fishing reels
Mercedes carsIs that what you meant? That's a good enough answer. I just recall you selling off shine Flat Head sweaters. Wasn't trying to start a "brand war" our anything, lol

I represented Flat Head outside of Japan and US for a while. When I got serious traction with IH, I had to give up The Flat Head gig, I just could not give the brand the attention it deserved. I am still great friends with Kobayashi san and his crew and still pop up to Nagano once in a while. Have plenty of brand new with tags size 33 TFH jeans if people are interested….
