    @Max:

The 21 oz fade slower than the 25 oz (in general). Stubborn means, that they are stiff, hard to button up and heavy as fuck.

    Thanks for the explanation

I have had mine a few weeks now and they have softened up nicely. They are still a bit creaky when I walk, but these are serious jeans. Purchasing them was definitely a good move.

Now I shall hold out hope that the IH-9634 Superblack will be made with buttons again (I don't do zips on jeans) so I can have a great pair of jeans for work!

IH Forum: Need some sizing advice on the 634-XHS.

I have both a size 33 and a 34 and not sure which to keep. The 33 is definitely a bit tough to button but I like the way it looks in the upper block and below the knee. The 34 is spot on in terms of size/comfort but I am concerned that if they stretch, they will be too loose in the waist.

Does the XHS stretch much?? Selfedge says only .5'' others say 1'' in the waist.

Also, if I do one hot soak with the size 34'' will this bring the size down a bit in all dimensions?

            I am a size 33 in the 634s and a 34 in BBusters….. Thanks

Agreed, suffer for a week for years of comfort and good fit.

Thanks - this is helpful. But will require some suffering. They will stretch an inch?

Also - are you guys soaking these before wearing. I know they are sanforized already so…?

I soaked mine, to settle the stitching, dont know if it make sense or not. If not, I soaked my pair to get out the starch and dirt from the shelves 😉

Wear the 33 for a week or two… Soak... Then wear the fuck out of it...

Thanks. Will post fit pics once I have tamed the XHS a bit.

You will get an inch of stretch.  My advice is to soak first (but I never do with the XHS, because I don't like it when I tell me what to do…....)

Just got a new one in the mail, would you recommend an initial soak or no since it's sanforized?

With these, you should, but i don't….

Why should you? because there might still be shrinkage on the length?

Yes a small bit, but more importantly to bed in the constructional (yellow) stitching…

I am not following.. what do you mean by "constructional (yellow) stitching"?

The stitching that holds the pieces of denim together that makes them into jeans….

Pants made out of denim, usually dyed in indigo.  Typically with 5 pockets, reinforced by rivets at major stress points.
