Funnily enough, it is unseasonably mild…And I don't exactly know why the roof opens on take-off and landing....

And here you are….

@Chap - The F35 opens the flap on the top of the fuselage, behind the cockpit, as it is where the fan is located. This fan is used for short take-off and vertical landing, STOVL, which is a requirement when taking off and landing on an aircraft carrier.

Chap

I see… thanks for info. I already thought that it might be too fast to have a convertible option

Chap

You have been a fighter jet pilot @den1mhead as far as I remember, right?

@Chap:

@Chap I'd like to bask in the glory of fighter pilots but when I went for RAF selection, back in 1991, "Options For Change" was wreaking havoc in the military and there weren't any pilot slots available that year. I was fortunate enough to get one of only two fast jet navigator slots, on the Tornado F3 (fighter) and Tornado GR1 & GR4 (bomber).

edit; the Tornado has now been retired

Oh cool, nevertheless you've been part of a fighter jet crew. Amazing. Must be a great experience…

Had some laps in a Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport Race Taxi with a professional driver at Spielberg Ring this year

that was speed-up enough for me... almost puked me ::)

Aetas

From fighter jets to Porsche GT2.. you guys now how to go fast!
During my turn, I had the chance to ride a tuned 125 Cagiva.
Brought me to my limits in acceleration .

Looking forward to your access to Red Cars @Chap

That is to say, carrier take off requires a V/STOL-capable plane or a catapult. At this time, the vast majority of aircraft launched airplanes are not V/STOL.

@neph93 is in a car between Gatwick and here. I left something in the office, I got a tad wet….

I only remembered that I was next, and we were doing the change over live and direct, the other day. Hot Ingrid is not prepped. This could get messy… [emoji15]

The best part of this Tour, is definitely the reaction of your partner .

goosehd

@neph93 Just curious. When the better half is mad at you, what language does she yell in, and do you understand everything she is saying?

The jacket handover is on. Giles and Paula are kindly hosting me and my oversized family (there are seven of is in all), for a couple of days and I’ll be taking the jacket with me when we leave. We had to have a photoshoot:

Hot Ingrid:

Jesper (17)

Noah (16)

Seba (12)

I’ll try and get the small ones in here tomorrow…

Yea it doesn’t get much better than that display of absolute awesomeness.

Thank you! Speaking of awesomness in Giles’ home I had the absolute pleasure of seeing and holding some of your work today. I was amazed by the ramen bowls. They are truly exquisite.

Bowls of love! Rarer than a khaki Ihsh-16.

@neph93 enjoying a beer at The Brewery last night…
