Maybe soak before cuddling to avoid scraping off some skin in your sleep… 😃

I imagine you shouting those lines to a prostitute wearing long black boots and a latex costume… I know it's your smartphone being silly but still... I like to believe...

Nay my Belgian friend,  that would be me but I'd be wearing
Wescos and my 634s's. Lol.  Although my Droid has a habit
            For speaking for me!

              @Giles:

Denim Sailor.  With this particular denim/jean, if you do not soak you will have them falling apart within 2 months.  You need to get rid of some of the starch and bed the constructional threads into the denim.  If you do not the denim is so abrasive that the constructional threads will abrade through.  I promise you, if you don't do this (and I have one very disappointed customer who thought he knew better), you too will be very disappointed….G

Does this apply to all IH jeans or just the 634SRs?

Just the 634SR, they are unsanforised raw.

                    Cheers@that_was_easy:

Unsanforized (the 634SR) denim should always be soaked, cold for less shrinkage, but soaked nontheless.  Sanforized denim (634S) has been shrunk and the fabric set.  They're typically starchy and crisp, but soaking isn't necessary, unlike with the SR.

mine just got here and i must say these are fucking impressive. they're just so much more intimidating than my other 634s. i'm gonna hold off on soaking and/or wearing these as im currently wearing another pair of denim for ~2 years so i cant soak them or else i'll be too tempted to wear them.

                        Soaking now.

                        Pre-soak Measurements and Fit
                        Waist: 15.75in
                        Inseam: 37.0in
                        Front Rise: 10.3in
                        Thigh: 12.3in
                        Knee: 9.25in
                        Rear Rise: 15.2in
                        Cuff: 8.9 in

Approximate measurements taken per IHUK's instructions.  I can fucking sense the raw power in these. :o 😉 😘 Also, I'm really digging on these bronze rivets, hardware etc.  Edits and flicks shortly.

                        EDIT Post-soak Measurements

                        Waist: 15.5in

                        Front Rise: 10.2in
                        Thigh: 12.1in

Congrats to the guys who just got them!

In addition to the pre-soak necessity comments on the previous page. Even after a soak these are so stiff they will actually cut into the back of your legs a bit. The first 2 weeks I wore mine if I went for a long walk I would get denim burns on the back of my legs where the creases were. These jeans are not very forgiving haha. I would definitely recommend a pre-soak just for comfort sake.

I fear mine are coming to the end of line very quickly. I've been putting off washing them as that usually opens up the holes substantially.  Luckily now I've got something else on order so I put them in for a wash today,

pre pics, sorry they came out so dark.

                                          Fucking epic SR's right there.

After handling (and trying on)my pair RAW I can't imagine anybody unstable enough to wear these like that.  They're about as pliable as corrugated steel.  Got them soaked though, according to Haraki's instructions and saw zero fading/abrasion from the inside-out machine wash, which was in slightly warmer water than the initial soak.  They shrunk well, or at least enough to prevent me from buttoning the final button whilst midly inebriated last night.

Very pleased to have, apparently, sized correctly (same as 634) and can't wait to get into these tonight and feel that back of the knee burn!

Glad I read through this thread again too, cf. new avatar.  Plus, the 'turning a baseball bat inside-out" comment is maybe the funniest comment in IHF history.
