The sleeves on mine would normally be too long for me but the velcro eliminates the problem.

If one would have to decide between this and the lined N1, am I right to assume the N1 will be the warmer jacket? Switzerland based right in the mountains…are 0C and below.

N1 is warmer for sure!  I can wear this M65 when it's 70F over a T. It's gotta be 55F or below for me to wear the N1.

          Blanket-line all the things!!!

Thanks @Paul9221 that helps. I have a really warm jacket for subzero temperature but am looking for something that fit me covered for anything between 30-55 Fahrenheit, so the N1 sounds good.

So, finally I was able to get some around 3 to 4 cm of extension that I was much in need of on the sleeves of my M-65. I'm not afraid of the winter anymore.

What measurements should I look for? If I want it slightly fitted, but to be able to wear hood or shirt underneath… Do I go for the numbers that my IR shirt fits me or larger and how much? I wear XL in shirts...

Those XL shirts, are they IH? If so I wear an L in these over XL shirts by Iron Heart. It is snug but works.

Yes, XL in IR shirt… and in most made in japan stuff, even XXLin some (UES).

Never tried UES but I’d imagine L will will be best for you in the jacket.

Yes, @neph93 I went with the size L. It turned out to be the right choice, since I still got some room for layering.

@Cole isn’t around so much anymore, but wears L mostly, sometimes XL.

If it helps @grzzi, almost all my Iron Heart shirts are XL and I wear a L in the 27 jacket.  I can layer a t-shirt and ultra heavy flannel underneath the jacket.  It is a trim fit but it works.  I would not be able to wear a hoody sweatshirt underneath.

But he reacts to being tagged.  😉 I only wore L in shirts very rarely. More XL and XXL (damn you corona pounds).

But my M65 and the 2 deckjackets are all size L and still fit (the deckjackets a bit tighter then a year ago).

Let's say it's a wee bit tight at the moment. But I got until april to get lost uf at least 5 kg to not look like Mando the Hutt on the next event.  ::)

(or compared them) i really can't decide between the two, so other than the extra waterproofing/colour difference, is one more preferable than the other (obviously its down to personal choice) but just wanted any first hand experience/input - cheers!

The other difference is the exterior pockets. On the IHM-27 you have the original articulated pouch pockets. On the IHM-33 they are flush to the face of the jacket. So the 27 is more authentic military, and more rugged in its aesthetic, but the 33 is sleeker and cleaner.
