Thx! Sleeves are long!

Anyone have a clue on how to size this ramblin? L in ship john is usually too small for me. XL only works after a hot wash and some shrinkage. 18.5 shoulder would definitely not work on a shirt for me but 24.75 chest seems huge. I am an XL in a wills for what that is worth. Hmm...

Got the SJ email and immediately came here for more info. Probably gonna go for this one. It's too cool to pass. Other than the denim and sashiko hats that I purchased from them, I'm a noob when it comes to their other items. Is the denim raw and will it shrink if I give it a hot soak? Just wondering if I can dial in the fit if needed.

Maybe it’s not open to Canadian orders. The link still doesn’t work for me.

@Chibs Maybe your wife tampered with your phone so you can't buy it.
She's great in your videos btw. I love that she doesn't pull any punches when giving her opinion. -
@Nobunaga haha thx. Wait until you see what she says next vid. Brutal!

@Chibs weird, it should not be picky on where your from. I’m in Sweden I can see the jacket.
If you go to Ship John’s website, go to clothing it should be the item in the top.
Sweden is 9 hours ahead Portland. So if I’m gonna try, it’s a late night for me

Just became unsure about sizing too, I’m a solid Large in Ship John.
Own the flannel plaid shirt, denim Townes shirt, waxed Ramblin jacket and the Kristofferson preorder for this winter. All is Large. But no one have a wide chest of 23,25”.
And it said in the next “extremely minimal shrinkage” so don’t know if Medium will do me better..
I did send them an email and ask, but haven’t gotten a response yet

So…no one interested in the shorts that are dropping at the same time???
-
The only thing with the 2XL sixing is the 19.50 shoulder measurement that I am wondering about. Altho my sashiko townes had similar shoulder measurement and it fits fine. Idk maybe the large chest measurement helps. With IH I can't wear anything with that shoulder measurement, but then again it's usually paired with a equally tighter chest as well.

@rahrah12 I'm definitely interested. I love the look and color.
Hopefully the rambler jackets get all the attention and there isn't a rush for the Guthrie shorts.

@TheChef17 missing the ship john pocket logo too

Sorry for not having the entire chart saved for all of you bigger or smaller dudes. But I found the waxed Ramblin chart saved on medium and large so put them side by side with this current broken twill version.

So the list is in the order:
•Chest
•shoulder
•bicep
•sleeve
•center back
•bottom hem -
For those trying figure out sizing….
I have a leather wills, waxed wills, denim wills, kristofferson, and the broken twill Ramblin jacket all in size XL.And they fit great across the board.

For me personally I was a no brainer size Large too in the old versions of the jacket. Like everything else in Ship John, I’m a consistent size Large.
But because of the changed pattern or tweaked run of this jacket. They became wider, longer and longer arms then it had before. So to closer mimic the size of my Large waxed canvas Ramblin. Jacob at least recommended me personally to size down in this run. Because this medium was closer to my old Large, then this new large is to my old
probably not a go to respons for everyone. But that’s what Jacob recommended me to do. Size is always subjective, and I would have been able to wear a size large in this run. It would just look and feel way to big for my preference.Like my waxed Ramblin have 22.5” chest and it’s a lined jacket. This new broken twill version have 23.25” and it’s unlined. The amount of extra room would be quite significant if I would go the same size. But if I size down to a medium that has 22.25” it’s closer to my old Ramblin.
That’s why it got me confused. Because I knew large was my size from previous runs.
But different runs may change, so going by the measurements and asking their customers support is probably the right move to find the desired fit🫶
