Regarding the vest, for less layers, yes, I would definitely size down. For me personally, sizing down would mean an issue in terms of body length (plus, I don’t think they have that size in stock). So this worked out well for me to wear over layers…

This UHF + a tshirt was warm enough for a ferry crossing on lake Titicaca on a 6 degC day between Peru and Bolivia.

The region has pink flamingoes so I think this flannel must have felt at home. Didn't manage to get the wild ones to pose with my domesticated one!
