@neph93 here's the new Hamilton Khaki Field watch. It's got a new, hand wound movement, and a 38 mm case size.

    More details at Monochrome.

Thanks very much for that. Now to get to a place where I can try one on…

Also, there is an irony that the guy who wrote the piece about a watch called the «Hacked» is also a hack...

@DougNg how right you were about NATO straps. I changed up the strap on my Hamilton field to a Strapt NATO. I'm very impressed with the quality of this strap. @neph93 I like how the NATO strap has made what is essentially a slim 38" watch, to something a bit more substantial looking.

          That does look smart!

I'm VERY partial to NATO's, and I really feel that simplistic field watches generally look best on a NATO

            That's a nice strap.

If you notice fraying or loose threads anywhere, take a Bic lighter to it.

Move it slowly towards the flame until you see the thread shrink. Those square holes tend to fray.

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

@DougNg Thanks for the useful tips, I'll keep an eye on how it progresses.

It's a good, solid strap, the hardware is nice quality too. Thanks for getting me to even consider a NATO.

Hands on with the new Hamilton hand wound field watch. I like this one a lot, particularly with the olive PVD case.

Wow, that is a heater. The white dial I find a bit busy but the PVD is tempting. @UnTucked might appreciate that one.

Lots of great deals on Seiko at Macy's. This automatic is $100!

Just got this beautiful JDM Seiko in a few minutes ago. It’s the re-edition of the late 90’s SUS quartz line and it is almost perfect compared to my 1999 model. The black coating has a cool, stonewashed look to it so it isnt as reflective as it would be new. Not sure how durable is, but it might hide scratches better…hard to say.
The case is small but stout and the dial is very easy to read for the size of it. For someone like myself who enjoys sub-40mm watches, it’s a home run [emoji106]

Orient Bambino. Really nice budget dress watch. Love the blue hands.

                          Great dial, love the numerals.

@Anesthetist that is a beautiful, beautiful watch. I would happily make it my first watch purchase.

Been eyeing this metal G-Shock since it was released last year but didn’t have any chance to see it in person. We finally met and it went home with me. [emoji7]

That's a bad ass watch. It looks pretty heavy…

That's a sweet G-Shock. Been eyeballing it for awhile.

It's not stupidly heavy but it certainly weighs a lot more than it's resin counterparts.

As for me I just got myself an Apple Watch 4, in 40mm, and I have to say I really like it. It's not going to replace the Omega, Grand Seiko, and Cartier, but the feature set is unique & very useful to me.

I got one of those for my wife with a rose-colored case and a matching magnetic Milanese bracelet and they are very cool, including the bracelet and the strap change system.

Almost cool enough to tempt me to dive back into their ecosystem, but Google still does too many things better for that to happen. I am hoping Google catches on up wearables with a Pixel watch that's competitive.

But I do like wearing a watch so I'm not sure how I'll reconcile things if I go that route.

For me the deciding factor were (1) ability to play music from the watch, even without the phone, and (2) how good the HR monitor is (I like to track it when exercising and Polar was not working out anymore…) I got the cheaper aluminum model... It's kind of crazy the premiums they charge for steel and the larger size, given the innards are the same.

It integrates beautifully with the Apple ecosystem - much better than I thought.
