      Did better taking pic’s today…

Outakes from the morning playtime/WAYWT photo-op...

Decepticon pimping is nearly as hot as GAH pimping:

I’m sure the top denim bloggers don’t have to put up with this sh*t…

I promise I spend most of my time playing with them and not being a poser.

After that I finally got to pack my clothes for the trip. An easy job when you have a carefully curated minimalist wardrobe.  Not that I would know anything about that…

      Vest problems...

      Shirt problems…

      Jeans issues..

And I won’t even bother with the cut & sewn…

Typically what I wanted to pack was a little stinky, so I had to wash some stuff. Luckily we have decent drying weather.

      IHSH-33-IND

      IH-666L-19-v2

Some close ups of the jeans. This denim really is different and special.

Then it was time to bake pizza for the fam…

The oldest boys are not travelling with us on holiday, so we had a family pizza party before the off. If you are familiar with the baking thread you’ll know I’ve started learning to make bread «properly». Today was my first attempt at «artisanal pizza» a là Ken Forkish. Ken doesn’t have an apron like mine though…

Last night I put down a Biga using type 00 flour:

Earlier today it was all bubbly and smelly:

Towards the end of the bulk ferment:

Proofing (the dough was a little wet):

        Pizza sauce almost ready:

Getting the toppings together while reading about the next step…

        Coming together:

        Chevre, sundried tomato and chorizo:

And a more traditional Parma ham with mozarella and pine nut kernels…

I swear there were others that were actually rounds and more attractive, but I failed to take pic’s…

        Quite pleased with the crust...

Hot damn @neph93 Pizza is so much more appreciated when you start from scratch, crust on up. Those look amazing. did you find a lot of excessive bubbling on your par bake? (i use a docker to roll small holes into my crust to try and alleviate, but a fork will work in a pinch).

Also, those topping look great! We usually finish with a drizzle of an herb infused oil to provide some extra fat and flavor during less cheesy bites.

          enjoy your holiday

                Holiday 2020, day 1.

We covered 365km from Bodø to Svenningdal. Drive time was five hours (speed limits vary from 60-100km/h), with a lunch stop on top of that at nice spot by a lake…

Hot Ingrid modelled the tour jacket, while I dicked around in another IH OD type III

A couple of hours later we got to Svenningdal where we have rented a simple cabin at a camping site. Camping sites in Norway are a culture and a way of life for some people. Lots of caravan’s and mobile homes and some tents. The cabins are basic af though:

But that is just fine as the outside is bloody lovely.

After the kids were in bed, I went out for a bit of me time…

It’s a very nice spot. The really dramatic, breathtaking stuff was on the drive in between. Mountain passes, raging rivers, a glacier, the lot. If I’d stopped to take pics of the really good stuff we’d still be on the road though…

Thank you sir. It was a good start. We’ll be driving around 300km today, but split into two. Most of the day will be spent at an animal park with wild animals mostly from Scandinavia. Lynx, bears, wolves, wolverines etc.

Oh, and are there any amateur geologists here? There was an incredible collection of rocks in the river shallows yesterday. I’ll
Post then if anyone wants to help me work it out.

I know little about rocks and geology, but it struck me as interesting that the stretch of river that ran past the camping site had rocks along the bank that were extremely varied. As far as I could tell there was some limestone, sandstone, a lot of granite, and elements of quartz and iron. There were also some crazy examples of lava patterns, and a lot of boulders showing multiple rock types in one.

The following were all found together in an area of about ten square meters, if anyone knows anything about this stuff, I’d be interested in hearing about it.
