But forgive me, I used to collect strange stuff like this! I'm not going to wear them for real…
But seriously, is it safe soak them? Denim is more then 40 yeras old.

The "why not" was directed at the soaking part, not the wearing part. He would probably get arrested when wearing those in public for indecent exposure or suspected of selling weed
