gonna give them another try 1 size up. i remember the fabric not being as stiff/rigid as the xhsib. is this correct? felt like i didn't even have to break them in, and felt almost like wearing carpet.
It's a much lighter fabric. It's only 4oz but it makes a big difference. One of the more knowledgeable members might be able to expound on why it feels so much thicker.
I'm hoping that they make a XHS version soon. Insta-cop!
Selft edge has the xhs in a 633 cut. Is that one of iron hearts cut? Cant find it anywhere on here.

That's Self Edge's tapered version of the 634. So no high rise.

I didn’t want to wait for the 888-XHS, so I nabbed the 633-XHS from SE and I’m loving them, the low rise makes the cut feel even more relaxed. Zero regrets. That being said the flagship 21 oz is still my favorite.
I grabbed the 633, but the thighs were too small on me. Also the rise is night and day compared to the 888. So now im stuck about $400 on self edge with no interest in anything. Hopefully they stock the 888xhs when it comes out [emoji1696]

Agreed the rise is much different. I don’t always want my pants hiked up that high personally. But I love my 888’s also.
As far as the thighs not fitting, the 633 has a half inch more in the thigh measurement so that doesn’t make sense.
Not all cuts measure the same. Also IH and SE have different measuring methods.

i think they updated the measurements on the 888s. there is no way im buying the tag 32 with an 11.9'' thigh.
either way, both did not fit me. i could be confusing the fabric of the 633XHS with tightness. would reeeeally like an 888 cut in indigo/white

@paul9221 I'm encouraged to hear that you've seen significant stretch with your 888s in the past. I'm on a day 1 with a pair now…roughly how many wears was it before you experienced significant stretch in the waist and thigh?
Man, they stretched TOO fast. I'll see if I can dig up my numbers but I think the thigh stretched out 0.5" in two days. Same with the waist.

I bought some 888s in size 31, and after just the first wear I knew in my heart of hearts that they were going to be too big on me in the end. Rocking some 30s now, and while I'm confident they will loosen and stretch, the thighs and waist are a bit snug right now. Been wearing them for only about 2 hours, and I can at least feel the waist starting to give and soften a bit.

The 21oz is famous for it’s stretch. All denim jeans will loosen and relax, normally around an inch, because of its construction the 21oz gives in quickly and meaningfully. Between one and two inches in the waist. Thigh stretch is harder to come by and happens proportionally, so on a small pair there will be less, however they will loosen up. Depending on your activity level you should notice a marked difference after five days of wear. After two weeks you’ll be done.
