Wow, just woke up to this… Very scary..

Apparently Hawaii is getting slammed with huge waves from the earthquake.

I'm so glad to hear the Haraki and crew are all ok.

Woke up to a call today @ 3:30 AM from my wife's mom. My wife then turns on th tv…. very sad news. Good to hear haraki-san and ih crew are ok. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Japan.

Hanging out on higher ground with the family and most of the town.  We're in very northern California on the coast, and all the schools are closed and some main roads too.  We were told to leave our home as a precaution (we live in a tsunami hazard zone).  Hoping all my friends in Japan are ok, and all y'all out there as well…

Some of you know Ayumi, who works with Haraki (now based in New York, but with all her family in Japan).  She emailed a short while ago:

Thank you for checkin on us. Non of my and Haraki san's family and friends got hurt though people in Tokyo are suffering the subway system mess. Haraki san said it shook pretty heard and measured scale 5 which is pretty big.

Thank heavens our lovely IH team is safe, but like all of you my heart goes out to everyone affected.

Damn….. this is kind of eery. My wife just reminded me that we were suppose to be in Japan around this time (beginning of March) for our honeymoon trip. But we postponed it for now due to lack of funds.
