Thanks Finn! Actually most people call me Andy, 'cause "Andreas" seems to be too challenging for Americans 

Concerning Trickers I would say go for them!! Great shoes they are. Shoe Healer is a very reliable source and Richard (owner) is a very helpful and patient guy. Make sure to size them correctly, the lasts are a bit different from what you may be used to.

I know.  Try being called Giles (that is G as in Jaipur not G as in Garage).  I've worked with Americans all my life, so respond positively to John, Charles, Chuck, James - it's easier that way…..

I hear that - I kept watching ebay and found a new pair of acorn stows for under $400 USD.  Just takes the normal obsessive ebay scanning that we already do all the time anyway heh

Sierra Trading Post is a good source for Tricker's. I bought some short wings from STP but the last just didn't work for me. I would really like to be able try various styles on somewhere but I have no options locally. I keep tabs on eBay but not being able to return them is a big deterrent.

How do you guys 'dress' the reddish edge/welt on acron stows?

Is there a polish or something that matches the color that can be used for touch ups?

I'd use light tan polish, but any shade of tan would do.  You really can't feck the edge, it's side grain, so will 'age" quicker than the rest of the boot/shoe.  You could put ox-blood on that and it it was too dark/wrong colour, in a week it wouldn't be….
