Black stows need thick boot socks or are a bit too roomy, smart to size down a second pair 1/2 and wear with dress socks?

Stunning is right. Quick internet search for them and I can only find them in Japan. That right?

My Trickers Stow, they are Shoe Healer's exclusives. Bought them about 6 months ago, they didn't see much wear, because I did not have them with me in Florida.
                            Dainite soles, blue calf lining.

Thanks Finn! Actually most people call me Andy, 'cause "Andreas" seems to be too challenging for Americans  😉

Concerning Trickers I would say go for them!! Great shoes they are. Shoe Healer is a very reliable source and Richard (owner) is a very helpful and patient guy. Make sure to size them correctly, the lasts are a bit different from what you may be used to.

I know.  Try being called Giles (that is G as in Jaipur not G as in Garage).  I've worked with Americans all my life, so respond positively to John, Charles, Chuck, James - it's easier that way…..

So big thumbs up for my future wife  😉 She tried to call me "Andreas" from our first day… with mixed results

I hear that - I kept watching ebay and found a new pair of acorn stows for under $400 USD.  Just takes the normal obsessive ebay scanning that we already do all the time anyway heh
